Now it's officially up.

And MMJ gets two hours but there will be an hour of space inbetween so they'll probably go a little over. They'll rock faces.

Set time video announcement is also up - Bonnaroo set time announcement

Does anyone think they might play all of Circuital at the show? Kind of odd how they specifically mention it in the video. Whatever they do, it's gonna be an incredible way to spend sunset on Friday night at Roo.  :D

Interesting that the Preservation Hall Jazz Band with Del McCoury set kinda overlaps with MMJ. I figured the PHJB were a lock to play with MMJ -- though I guess it's still somewhat possible for the latter half of the show.

So what's everyone's plans for Friday regarding holding down a spot for Jacket Friday?? I was realllly hoping to see Jack White with Wanda Jackson, but it's just uncomfortably close to Jacket time.

I know the sound is good all throughout the field in front of the main stage, but the pit is a no-brainer....are y'all camping out at the mainstage, say, 2.5-3 hrs before Jacket set time??

Yep, plan on getting to the main stage right after Grace Potter

We're driving all the way from Virginia and the only band we care about at all is The Jacket. We'd love to meet up with any of you who'd like to connect and get right up front as a friend mob. I mean, as much as any other band is intriguing,  seeing the band with a cell of brothers and sisters is the way to go!
Why does my mind blow to bits everytime they play that song?

Friday is going to be epic.
Sharon Van Etten -> Ben Solle -> Phosphorescent -> Bella Fleck -> Warren Haynes -> Decemberist -> Jacket -> Arcade Fire -> Big Boi -> Ratatat.

I don't get why Arcade Fire only has an hour and a half set...I bet they go late.  I hope they go late. I hope Jacket goes late and then I hope Arcade Fire plays all night...
God damn those shaky knees.

Most people have been saying they usually play for a little longer than an hour and a half so I guess that makes sense to schedule them like that rather then give them 2 hours and force them to stretch into it. I think people said they played around 100 minutes at Coachella so yea I'm guessing they'll go over their scheduled time here. It's going to be a great night.

I'll be camping out at The What Stage from 3:15 until 12:30 am.  This will be my 5th time seeing GP&TN (first time at Roo 06), 12th time seeing The Decemberists, and 13th time seeing MMJ (first at Roo 05).  I'll miss a bunch of good stuff (Warren Haynes, Ray Lamontagne and others), but life (festivals) is about sacrifice.

Just saw the schedule and most say...a little disappointing?  :'( After witnessing '06 and '08 late night sets, the only thing I can see them do is a another timeless late night or a well deserved headlining spot.  Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they will still kill it, but would of rathered a different  time slot.  Felt like the Black Keys got the shaft as well.  They would be the two bands i would want to see the most and think both deserve there seniority based late night.  Well at least instead of lil' Wayne? or Emimem getting a special 11pm time slot? Didn't they learn their lesson rearranging  the schedule for Kanye?!

Erik26

Black Keys were LN last year and MMJ we've known for wuite some time wouldn't be LN. I'll be rolling into the What stage lawn for the Decemberists and continually moving up to get close for MMJ. I plan on trying to get into the pit for both MMJ and AF.

My schedule for Friday looks like this:

Graveyard
Phosphorescent
Decemberists
MMJ
AF
Black Angels
Pretty Lights (Just the first 15-20 minutes)
Shpongle

Not a busy day in the afternoon just because it's a long weekend and it'll be nice to have a break during the hottest part of the day.

I'd never heard Arcade Fire before last night (because I refuse to listen to the radio. Blech) and can't believe how great they are! Rocking! Thanks to you all for giving me the incentive to take a closer look and listen. Friday is going to be incredible!

Arcade Fire are absolutely phenomenal live. Do yourself a favor and stick around for them.

For those of you who have never been to ROO (as I'm sure most of you have) the Main Stage has a barricade partitioning off the front section of the GA pitt. Every time a band finishes their set, security clears out the front section. There is a waiting area, generally to the right of this barricade, where you can wait to gain access to the front pitt. When I went to ROO' in 2009, I found out about this secret on Sunday afternoon.  A friend of mine, who was second row at David Byrne (and who played on the Which Stage), secured third row for Phish, who started just after David Byrne.

If you intend on camping out in front of the Main Stage all day, it is simply impossible. If you plan on gaining a great spot for My Morning Jacket (like myself), your best method would be wait in the "waiting area" during Grace Potter's set. But if you are a huge Grace Potter fan, and want to be in the front area, you will have to exit the main area, and wait in line again. I know this concept it stupid, but it stops people from camping out in the main stage all day.

Hope this helps all of you!

AlbertNiles

Thanks for the tip!  But using this method, wouldn't it be best to be in the waiting area during the Decemberists set?  You mentioned Grace Potter, but there is a band in between.  Thanks!

You are indeed a WONDERFULMAN! Thank you so much for this info, as this is my first ROO and I really don't have a clue about anything other than I want to be with other Jacket fans up front for the show. I'll be in that waiting area. Hopefully I'll see you there and be able to shake your hand sir.  :dankk2:

From first glance, this might be exactly my plans for Friday as well.  From Graveyard all the way to Pretty Lights (Haven't listened to Shpongle, so maybe I need to) but this set of bands, with MMJ as the main event, will be phenomenal.   The one single band I'm most excited about besides MMJ would be Black Angels.  Can't wait to catch them live.

Louisiana Fairytale will be screening in the cinema tent.
