Last time this discussion took place was in 2005 according to this forum's search engine and it didn't go far. Since 2005 websites have increased. I obsessively check a few as I am sure many of you do as well. I am always on the lookout for a new web hangout.

So aside from this board (and the usu. suspects fbook, youtube) where do we go? Also, Let's keep it clean ladies  ;)

Here's some of my top sites:

Non-Music:
- The Onion / The Onion AV Club - http://www.avclub.com/
- The Nerdist Blog - http://www.nerdist.com/
- Art of Manliness - http://www.artofmanliness.com/
- Soul Pancake - http://www.soulpancake.com/
- A Continuous Lean Blog - http://www.acontinuouslean.com/about/
- NORML - http://www.norml.com/

Music - Related
- Glidemagazine - http://www.glidemagazine.com/
- Auarium Drunkard - http://www.aquariumdrunkard.com/
- Jambase - http://www.jambase.com
- NPR All songs Considered - http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=37
- Spinner - http://www.spinner.com

This is just to name a few, looks like i need a few newsworthy sites added to my list. Is alternet still up and running?

Another part-time fark lurker, rare commenter here. If you see brilliant witticisms from 'Howard M Burgers', that's me. I get most news from fark and NPR, and librull spoon-feeding from The New Republic.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/popcandy/index (Pop Candy -- great pop culture blog)

http://thisiswhyyourehuge.com/ (Disgusting food creations. It's addicting and nauseating.)

http://bangabledudesinhistory.blogspot.com/ (Hilarious, yet kind of educational.)

http://thoughtcatalog.com/ (Oh, how I love snark.)

Here are some of the non-Swedish websites that I quite like:

lamebook.com - Yes it's kind of lame, but... addictive... :)
("I hope that when I die, Charlie Sheen's life flashes before my eyes")

dearblankpleaseblank.com - the good ones are really good, the non-good ones, not so much... ;)
("Dear Noah, we could have sworn the ark wasn't leaving until 5, sincerely unicorns")

www.iwrotethisforyou.me/ - poetry
("Other people will edit you your whole life. They'll take what you say and keep the bits they like and throw away the rest. Don't edit yourself. Let other people do it for you. ")

blog.brokep.com - one of my favorite blogs, English and Swedish posts mixed together, mostly about copyright, privacy, social media and what not.
("One of the big questions of todays world is obviously who the owner of your personal data really is...)

bash.org/?top - geeky and often pretty funny quotes from IRC
("i got kicked out of barnes and noble once for moving all the bibles into the fiction section")

Lovin these, thanks...I am already addicted to thought catalog but it's blocked at my work so I get something to look forward to during my evening searching.

Hahahaha  ;D ;D  Those crack me up! I'll have to take a peek sometime at those sites

I'm a lolcat addict myself... and all the variations of that one...

But I also find myself on www.dailyom.com, a nice uplifting site with a daily blurbski about positive living

I also "dig" this gardening forum: http://www.helpfulgardener.com/phpBB2/
Even if you're not a member, it's a great searchable/readable info. source

Old Farmers' Almanac... for growing plants, tracking weather, helpful gardening tips, recipes.... just about everything! http://www.almanac.com/

Sweet jobs across the country (/global?)  www.coolworks.com   I haven't jumped on any of these opportunities yet, but there's some really cool postings

www.meetup.com has been an awesome site too, free meet ups with like-minded people, in almost every town! This is the site that made it possible for me to lead a small hike to the cave near my house

And last but not least, World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF!)  www.wwoofusa.org ---Stay on a farm on Hawaii for free, exchanging work for rent and meals  8)  Sure why not!  :P

Oh yes ofc the lolcats, how could I forget, those are addictive for sure! The dailyom one seems to be down at the moment, I can't seem to access it. The other sites seem pretty cool though, so many things to do, there's no end to the possibilities!

Weirdest thing ever.

THAT'S WHERE I GUESSED!! I thought I remembered you mentioning "west coast" shows at some point, maybe about Junip / Jose Gonzalez..... and I totally honed in on Västergötland!!! It was the first area of the map that I even clicked.  WEIRD.

Guess that means I better start makin' some plans!!  :D

Well now I really AM excited about that though! That may have to be a future venture!!!!  :D :D
