i bought the GA.   :coffee: (it's 7:30 am here.  too early to toast with beer.  although, i can think of a few people here who would argue that point...)
:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:
you were among those i thought might argue the case for morning libations!  ;D

Just spoke to someone at UK and they told me Ticketmaster had mislabeled all the sections as limited view.  The only limited view sections would be sections G and T on the north side of the arena.
thanks for the recon!  good first post.

Thanks, I'm from Lex so any questions about the venue or surrounding area I'll try to answer

Can we confirm Ga is all floor?  Thanks in advance for any help.  And welcome to the board.
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

If it is not on the floor I don't know where it would be; but with that being said I would be surprised that the students didn't buy up all the floor tickets.

I got seats in row W. It said limited view and i don't know what that means for the memorial Colosseum but just breathing the same air will be just fine with me!

previously in the thread we have confirmed all seats are labeled limited viewing.  It's a misprint.

I spoke to Josh Lucas with Student Activities @ UK and he said yes, "ga" is floor, unless it has a section on it. ie;the double lettered sections on the upper east side of the arena... the red section on the seating chart.

He also said the floor is all "ga standing" and no seats at all on it.

Stage is on North end of arena, and as stated earlier...only sections G and T could have a limited view.Depending on how far out the stage comes, these could end up being side stage sections.

This looks like a decent place for a pre-show

anyone know anything about this place?

Happy hour 4-7 everyday is good enough for me

Good pizza, great beer selection.  Five minute walk to coliseum.  Can get crowded sometimes but can't imagine it would be on a Sunday night.

You got it rusty.

Good luck with the rail. Definitely the place to be. I was lucky enough to see three of the five T5 shows from the rail in front of Carl, and those shows are burned in my memory forever.

Hope you get to the rail for this show and get to have the same experience.

Ticketmaster fixed the label - nothing says Limited View anymore :)

There are only two hotels I can think of within walking distance, the Hilton and the Hyatt - both downtown.  Both are fairly nice.  Staying anywhere else you are going to have to drive or get a cab.  The Marriott Griffin Gate is probably the nicest hotel in town, but its about a 10 minute drive from the arena, and not really near anything of interest.

hey, kbshep, i've come to terms with the fact that there will be no beer sales at the show itself :'(, but i was wondering if lexington/fayette allows any alcohol sales on sunday.  we're playing golf there (maybe griffin gate) that afternoon, will we be able to get our drink on?  any bars/pubs open on sundays for our post-golf, pre-show meal?

or should we smuggle in all the booze we need from the 502?

Check  earlier in the thread, I posted a link of a place that is open on sunday and has happy hour every day from 4-7.  Only 5 min walk to the venue,  Haven't seen much feedback but I have my eye on this spot.

yeah, seconds after my last post i realized i could use this interweb-surfing contraption to find the answer for myself.    good to see they're not dry.

pazzo's looks as good as anything, but where we end up will depend on how much time we have after golf.  if we're cutting it too close, we might even end up eating golf course clubhouse food.

Yes you can drink on Sunday in lexington and Pazzo's is the spot for this venue. I would use priceline.com to bid on a hotel if you want to save some money.  You should be able to get a room cheap on a Sunday. Also keeneland will be running that weekend if you want to got to the races.
