I will take a torrential downpour with my MMJ Red Rocks experience please

Confirmed. My birthday in 2011 is going to be spent in Boulder followed by seeing my two favorite live acts back to back at Red Rocks!
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

question... on Red Rocks website for the flaming lips show it says GA is 1-25 and 61-69. So if I buy GA (which is cheaper than reserved) does that pretty much garuntee I'll be in the very back. It wouldn't even make sense if if gave me the option of the two. I'm confused. I already bought GA tix for the MMJ show and am now regretting that mucho.

My understanding is its first come first serve so if you get there before the opener you are pretty much guaranteed something in the front section

That is worth noting...it's rained every time I've been at Red Rocks.  Sometimes a brief cloudburst, sometimes torrential downpour...but you know, be prepared and you'll be fine
science fact: if they play steam engine there will be rain.

I got to Red Rocks about 30 min. before the Black Keys (openers) played two years ago and got our seats behind the sound booth, probably row 22 in the center.  You do not need to wait in line for gates to open but plan on getting to your seat before the opener starts to get the front section of ga.

I also think MMJ is more popular this time around and will probably sell out the venue, something they did not do last time.

Regardless, you do not want to be in the upper ga.  Great views of Denver metro but sound can be bad.

I think if they don't play "The Bear" at Red Rocks they will be making a grave mistake.
God damn those shaky knees.

It would be the first time they have performed that at Red Rocks.  I would love to see it done because I have yet to experience that song live!

4 months from today!!!   :o

Jane

Truth.  The sound in the top 1/3 of Red Rocks can be pretty poor, especially when it's windy...which is quite often.  From up there sound sort of comes and goes and can sound pretty bad.

OK, so my wonderful wife Beth told me tonight at dinner that she thinks that we should just do and fly out from NY to Red Rocks for the show.  Who am I to argue?

Someone, please help me out with some good tix.  Will gladly pay a fair price for good seats or the pit.

Count me in for the cabin and JacketFestWest Crispy.

Just let me know what you need and I'll bring it.

What's your beverage of choice?

Next up is some travel plans for us East Coasters.Something else we can bs about at MtnJam ;) . I'm planning on flying Newark -Denver sometime Wednesday and returning Saturday.

I was hoping to catch an am flight. If anyone is doing the same let me know. I'll be renting a car and be happy to give you a lift.

See you there, Eric! More details as the summer progresses...

Alright, Dylan! Ima cook you a steak like I told you how to do it.  ;) You will be able to get GA tix with no problem when the regular sale commences.

This sounds so awesome.....Bob and I are still on the fence for this....we both desperately want to check out this venue, but -- and im being honest here -- i feel totally guilty leaving our daughter in Jersey during summer, and I just don't know if this is the trip for her....so, we shall see....but so happy for all y'all!

Hey, if you can swing it, the cabin is a fine place for chilluns too. In fact, there's a dude/guest ranch just down the hill from our place that you guys might be interested in, and all manner of good family stuff elswhere -- Denver, Boulder, Estes Park. She could go to the show too, right?

Crispy-  My wife and I are gonna do it?  Do you if there is room at the dude ranch and how to get in touch with them?

SWEET! The name of the guest ranch is Peaceful Valley, and I'm sure they'll have availability. As for tix to the show, I think you'll want GA tickets with the rest of us, and they should still be available (can't get to the TM website right now). It's gonna be great to see so many peeps at this thing!
