Red Rocks/JacketFestWest 2011

Spoke to a guy who went to Dispatch at Red Rocks and he also complained of more intrusive searches.  He was told it was because of a new guy in charge of security.  Some ladies at Ray Lamountagne (sp?) however, said it not bad, so I don't know. I bring this up because nothing is more irritating than being delayed for searches while you see others running in and grabbing prime seats, even if you are using "mules" who come in later carrying stuff.

I did the Red Rocks trip from Vegas (gorgeous drive) a few years ago, and if i can still get a ticket, i am tempted to do it again... anyway, wanted to give the people who ain't been to Red Rocks Amp before a word of warning... "WEAR SOME WASP REPELLENT", god damn biguns too buzzing around them Amp steps EVEN in the evening ;)

Who's staying in a hotel for this? Anyone renting a car? If so, what hotel, and is there a way we can coordinate a ride in exchange for a beer at the show.

I'll be going in on a rental  car with some others here. I think we're planning on staying in Denver Tuesday night, getting the car Wednesday am/noonish, and driving up to Crispys cabin for a couple of days.
Looks like we'll be getting a party bus from there for the Jacket show and possibly the Primus/Flaming Lips show too.
I don't know our exact eta on getting into Denver or the rest of the plans, but I'll keep you posted. I don't think it'll be too much trouble squeezing one more into the car.

If the party bus happens, it will probably be leaving from Soulshine's place in Boulder -- I can't imagine them going up to the cabin for a reasonable price, but we'll see.

I think ewind will have at least one partner in crime with him.

i saw this!! My friend was there all 3 nights and completely appalled at this (and he's an avid concert goer) That's such BS! ..i don't think it would fly anywhere on the east coast. guess we're gonna have to bring our tarps..
