mntgirl--make sure if you book over the phone, you tell them you want that rate, you have to be specific  (FMT code)...or they'll play dumb!

Hope this is cool.  GA ticket on eBay for face, if anyone is in need.

http://cgi.ebay.com/MMJ-My-Morning-Jacket-Red-Rocks-Denver-AUG-8-4-2011-/300581965695?pt=US_Tickets_all_in_one&hash=item45fc14cf7f

Come on John, any chance that ticket could have your name on it?
You know I would if I could.  Too soon after my Canadian adventure and too soon before our trip to Chicago.  Have fun without me, if that's possible.  I'm sure you'll all find a way...

I'm bummed I'm gonna miss this.  I guess I learned the pitfalls of will call as well as I have no way of getting my money back for the tix I purchased for this show unless I send someone my credit card or license.

You're welcome for the less crowded GA. ;D  Rock it out!

If there's any downside to the Roll Call System, it's that there's no way to recover $$ for bought tickets you can't use.   I get why they want will call and why stopping scalpers is a WIN for all of us.   But for us faithful, it's hard to commit to travel plans months in the future, especially when the notice between roll call announcement and presale is only a day or so.

If there were some sort of return policy - even if it's a one-time option a few weeks before the show, or a limit that you could only do it a certain # of times a year... something creative...

as it is I bought Philly tix without any sure idea of whether I'll make it or not, so I may be in the same boat as you Ruckus.

Sorry Ruckus, was looking forward to seeing your smiling face in Colorado.

Hopefully you are still planning on MP and I look forward to seeing you then.
I look forward to seeing your gentle smile at MPP :-*

Have you contacted Management?
God damn those shaky knees.

I hope the band knows the kind of crew we're bringing for this and they give us some special shit!  or just a REALLY REALLY long set.  What are the chances we get PWW, Steam Engine, War Begun and I Will Sing...?

Last RR show they played 29 songs.... I'm hoping for more of the same!

Thanks for the heads up Penny!

Yeah - Penny's right.  The gave my gf the runaround trying to secure the special rate.  Considering the hoops we jumped through, "playing dumb" is a bit of an understatement. They were basically just "dumb."  I think she called them a total of 7 times to get it right. So make sure you check the receipt they email you - messed ours up several times.

As for the show's length...i hope we get at least 25.  I have a hard time believing that we'll get one as long as the last one.  But, man do i hope it's a monster set!
You need it.  That's for sure.

My friend is at family reunion right now with Patrick. I told her to pass on the message that were coming from all over the country, it's my birthday, and my favorite song is Strangulation :)

I'm starting to get more and more excited. flight leaves out of baltimore wednesday. I've been doing some research on things to do, places to go and food to eat. One of my dreams is to see a show at Red Rocks...feels good to do something like this.

see yall at the rocks, or at MPP or in Philly. haha! ;D

Minneapolis to Kentucky

Wow, I haven't been on the forum in a while!  I am excited to see that a bunch of us are making the pilgrimage!  I may have missed this, but are most folks in GA?  Are you gathering?

For those interested, I will be shooting the show from the photo pit for the first few songs; If you see me, say hi!  The rest of my crew will be in GA.

Man, one week away!

e_wind

Pretty sure the majority of us are going to be in GA, and yes we are going to meet up before hand outside

wait a second, how does GA work at Red Rocks....  I thought it was the first 40 rows are so. Does it vary by show? I hope that I can get somewhat close both nights...

The first 25 rows are GA, then 26-50 are reserved -- as long as you're in line before the gates open, you'll be down there in those first 25 with no problem and pretty close. Not sure that will be true about the FLips show, but it has been for most every show I've been to there. If we're in the upper north lot, we'll be coming in on Carl side, which is good: if you look at the seating chart, the layout is asymmetrical.
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"
