Jacket brings the rain.  The band name isn't "My Morning Jacket" for nothing.

MY JACKET BRINGS THE RAIN

I have been to very few shows at Red Rocks in the afternoon/evening where it doesn't sprinkle a little bit, so you should always have a rain jacket unless it's really hot and you don't mind getting a little wet. Even rain won't hurt the tailgating -- rain is welcome in Denver, and downpours are short, if they happen at all. Thunderstorms with lightning are another matter.
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

A little rain is okay.

I was talking to my father last night about my trip and the conversation went as such:

Dad: "You know, you'll be a mile above sea level."
Ky: "Uhm, okay?"
Dad: "Just...you know...might want to watch your drinking."
Ky: "Why?"
Dad: "Well the thin air takes some getting used to and too much alcohol might make things worse. You'll get a nosebleed."
Ky: "Will I really?"
Dad: "No."
Ky: "I'll watch myself."
Dad: "And don't go running."
Ky: "Not happening."

;D I love him.

But on to more pressing matters. For those flying in...do you have a plan for your poster? I didn't know if I should bring a tube or not. Is there anyone on the East Coast who is bringing a tube and I could rent some space and pick it up at either MPP or Philly? I will buy you a beer at Red Rocks and on date of pick up.
Cow temperature.

Crispy

HA! I mean, YMML. Err, your dad does. Everything he says is true, the altitude can take a toll, but more beer can only help, especially after climbing Red Rocks stairs. You've been training for this, haven't you?  ;)

Hopefully they'll do the wristband thing again for posters so you can pick it up after the show. You could also do what I did in NYC and mail it home to yourself.

Ky-
I am bringing a poster tube (I think Eric is too) and I will certainly have room in mine to hold your poster and deliver to you at MP.  No beers needed.

By the way, you can also get that really cool RR promo poster that was shown here by sending $ via paypal as copied below.  I know a few of us already bought this one.

Good news! While we don't have our allotment yet, they should be here by the first week in August.
They are 1st run prints signed by the artist and go for $30.00    + $8.00 shipping.
These are promo posters and are not being sold at the show.

Shipping/Handling:

All posters are shipped in mailing tubes via USPS Priority Mail with signature verification. Shipping for 1-4 posters is $8.00.
We cannot be responsible for lost / stolen shipments. So if you wish to insure your package, please add $5.00 to your total.
The poster comes signed by the artist/s, and I am happy to do a special greeting/message. If so please note when you purchase. (We can sign in a black/blue sharpie or silver paint pen).

To purchase a print:

    Go to www.paypal.com
    Select "Send money".
Send funds in the amount quoted above to jeff@crypticaldevelopment.com
Be sure to specify the poster you wish to purchase (and any other notes) in the notes section of the payment.

after watching U2's under a blood red sky many, many years ago i dared to dream:  "some day, i will go to red rocks, and see an amazing band in that gorgeous setting & have one of those 'life-experiences' that is just so phenominal that i'll want to tell everyone i know about it, for the rest of my life..."  that moment... is 1 week from today :D

i'm ridiculously excited for JacketFestWest!!!  mmj will certainly make it great, however, a giant part of the excitement will, of course, be hanging out with the friends from here i've met over the past year as well as meeting more of you.

see y'all soon

You got that right Liz!!  So glad you will be at the Sheraton too and ain't no doubt that this one will be big fun and super special.  In an insane world, this trip will be the sanest thing we can do!  So I think this will be our 8th show together?  All in less than a yr!  9 will be MP and #10 will hopefully be the soon-to-be-announced mystery northeast date!   :D

it sure will be, jeff!  pretty amazing that we've been concert buddies for as many shows w/in such short period of time.  so many great conversations @ the various events, especially on the walks to get in line.  and then the big smiles & hi-fives during the shows when we've had mutual moments fo awesomeness :)  we will absolutely continue to add to our tally & i'm looking forward to it!  11 is my lucky number, so, just puttin it out there in the cosmos in hopes of 2 nyc area dates being announced soon (please please please)...

an event itself isn't a special thing.  it's the people with whom you share that time with that makes an event special.

It's always about the people. It's going to be amazing to meet so many new folks and put faces to names on here. Very much looking forward to our date night.  ;)

Yes. Yes I've been training. Benchpressing my 7-year old niece and flipping tires. *grunts* Not really, but I'm going to hold off on too much alcohol for Red Rocks. I want to actually remember the show and the surroundings. This can't be a repeat of T5 ngiht #3 where I remember people buying me drinks and drinking out of Jason's boot-bottle, but theennnnnn....

And thank you headhunter!!! I am definitely going to pick that up.

I jumped on PL's facebook to try and find it and no luck. Then I spent way too much time going through the T5 album and thinking about that week.

Ugh.  :'(

HA! The guy in the bandana came from Michigan and was my pal that week. Just found him on facebook a few months back, too.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.
