What a set! I should have come with you and scalped a ticket.

Yes you should've!

AC Saturday night?  You know you're always welcome to join me.

A bit of a fun personal note from last night...my two friends that I went to the show with are big fans from way back. I was in the middle, and these two should've been on "Name That Tune" last night.  These guys were on top of their game, and calling the tunes within a note or two. It was a fun competition, back and forth. Even the people around us were amazed at how spot on they were in their calls, and how quick they were. I did beat them to a couple, as for some reason they were slow to call "Ramble On Rose" and "Box Of Rain". :o Felt pretty good to be able to beat them to at least two tunes. ;D

I'd love to but I'll be with the MMJ girls in Brooklyn on Sat! Need to set up a Stone Pony bucket list trip. Can't believe I've never been there.

Well that sounds like you're going to have a fun night too.

We'll talk at the MSG meetup about a Pony show, if one doesn't come up before then. I'll make sure you get there.

That would be most awesome, miss.  That set list looks pretty tasty.  Viola Lee 1 - 3, Caution, and Morning Dew.  Gawd, I love that tune.

And the Help>Slip>Frankkkk!  And Mountain Song, which is blowing my mind that they're playing it....... not sure if my friend is going to mail me a copy of it or just bring it along when he visits in December for the Warren Haynes Xmas Jam, but it will be on its way to you as soon as it appears! :-D

Sorry woody. A.C. is a tough town to try and behave. ;) Definitely needed some recovery time.

Beautiful night down the shore with some friends, Furthur, and a cool ocean breeze. Doesn't get much better than that for me.

Set one had a bit of a "Without a Net" era vibe. Might've just been me, but that's the feeling I had. Sound was surprisingly a bit muddy early (tough hall), but didn't take long for it to level out, and back to the usual impeccable crispness I always come to expect from them.

A well done, but little surprise opener of Mason's, into a super sweet Cassidy (can't ever tire of this one), followed by a Brent era "Just a Little Light", and we were off to a great start.

The crowd was a little late filling in, but by this point it was pretty packed. We were pretty close, but there were people rocking out in the far reaches of the hall.  Gotta say I thought it was a very energetic, fun crowd.

Cold Rain and Throwing Stones seemed to really keep the energy up, and I was just thrilled with how tight the band was. Caught myself a couple times just marveling at their playing. While not the wildest ever, Hell to close was still pretty rockin', and always fun for me.

Set 2 was an off the chart, ass-kickin, fun as hell, so glad I went, hour and a half!

Viola>Bertha>Viola>Caution>Viola, was just a big rip-roaring WOW! Buckle up.  ;D  Help>Slipknot>Franklins nearly blew the curved roof off the place. Band was killin' it, and  Boardwalk Hall was one big rocking dance party!! Bert Parks woulda been proud! ;)

Pretty blown away to get a Mountain Song. Gotta love how these guys are full of these types of surprises. The night could've ended with Dew, and I woulda been a very happy camper.  One of, if not my all-time favorite Dead tune. A stellar version, with John really doing this song justice.  Loved it, but as always, missed the big guy like crazy during this one. He was definitely there in spirit with me, but found myself closing my eyes a couple of times, and going back. Huge ovation at the end of this tune, and smiles a plenty.

Totally dug the set closer of Rider. Nice way to follow up Dew,imo, and the hall was having some fun with the sing-along.

I thought we would get Sat. Night to close the set,so not surprised to get it in the encore. I was surprised to get a 2nd tune, and happy it was Ripple. I'm not sure how often they do a 2nd tune in the encore, but this was the 1st time in a long time I remember getting two.

Only bummer was knowing this was it for me with them until Spring. Thankful they're still out there doing their thing, and that I get to witness it, but man I wish I had another show or two. ;D  C'mon Spring!!

All in all a fun time in A.C. Everyone I spoke to all hoped they come back again. Lots of hotels, bars, casinos...you name it, A.C has it, and tons of fans stayed overnight. Plenty of after parties, and some great bands playing up and down the Boardwalk. I'd review the late night happenings, but afraid the post might get modded. ;)
