Maybe they are waiting to announce until Roll Call is in place?   That would make sense.   If so, I'd sure be psyched to say goodbye to the headache of getting good seats, fighting scalpers, etc.....  How sweet would that be!!??

If this is the case, I apologize to the band for cussing at them every day, thinking "why haven't they announced dates yet - they're KILLIN me"....

i really hope they continue the trend of "handpicked venues" across the country. was thinking of how awesome it would be if they played prospect park in brooklyn.

I saw the Dead Weather there last year.  It was a nice park, great experience and a hell of a walk from where we got off the train...

prospect park band shell would be a shit show and not in the best way possible. i'd say the new venue area on the w'burg waterfront would work better as far as smaller / BK venues go. that said, i saw band of horses there and didn't really like it all that much but there were definitely some killer views of the city if you turned round. too bad the old union pool isn't set up for shows anymore .. what a weird place!

i agree that it could be a shitshow. not the best setting logistically, but still a great setting. jim played there for the bill withers tribute so at least its on the radar. who knows?!

the williamsburg waterfront would make the most sense though. it is a shame that mccarren isn't hosting shows. saw some great shows there.

if they were to do a Brooklyn show - i think Keyspan field in Coney Island could be cool. Wilco and I think maybe The White Stripes played there.

I personally hope for a couple of multi night runs around the country.

they played 2 nights in dallas in 2006. it was unreal. it was like you had a mini festival in your town, and your favorite band was the only one on the bill. i was hoarse for a week.

I remember that, and I remember being extremely pissed that my girlfriend at the time could not understand the concept of going to both shows. Obviously she is no longer with us...  ;D

I wouldn't mind a couple of nights at The Beacon. Hell, maybe they can work it out with MSG and do a 5-10 show run there every year, like the Allmans. 8)

I'd rather see them at the pavilllions they were tearing up last year then in the theaters I'm gonna see this summer. I'm really hoping or a Louisville waterfront show in honor of the new record
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

She didn't wanna go to both shows, so you killed her?   :o   ;) :D

I am not a big fan of concerts at Keyspan. I saw both White Stripes shows, both Phish shows and the Across the Narrows festival there. All of these shows were a blast and I love Coney Island but heading out there on a week night is kind of a pain in the ass. Also the train back at the end of the night is always packed.

For NYC I think Radio City is still their best option. Just please no more Terminal 5. I loved those shows but I am just not a huge fan of the venue.

I am torn as to root for GA venues or seated, now that this Roll Call system is here.

ALady

How about we wait and see how the Roll Call system works first?   ;)

I am rooting for seated. Back in the day (2002 to 2005) I never wanted to see MMJ in a seated venue. But over the past few years with growing attendance I would rather have a seat than try to compete with people trying to push their way to the front.
