Sold for $230, FYI.

Damn. I guess that makes it the most expensive piece or MMJ wax there is

What about that Gold Hole?
Two Gold Holes on discogs right now, one for $165, the other for £150.00(~$237.10), and those things aren't autographed.
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

e_wind

Well I suppose the autographs change it, but I think that autographed one is just about as likely to be found as an in autographed one.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

e_wind

I was comparing that to the 165$ on on discogs.

danz

I wouldn't want my Gold Hole disc autographed...

Crispy

My point was that Gold Hole is probably worth more "pound-for-pound" than the picture disc. Though I am now kicking myself not having bought one when it was released.

danz

Stop kicking yourself and offer me something for my extra copy, Chris ;)

Are you talking about the picture disc or Gold Hole? For the former, I offer to buy you an extra beer when I come to the JJ show in SF in May. For the latter, I offer you my new recordshelf, but you have to come pick it up.

e_wind

Shit Dan, what are you looking for (for either)

danz

I'm talking about the latter; I don't have an extra of the picture disc.

What's that record shelf looking like, Chris?

I'm not really looking for anything MMJ, record wise. Well, besides Dear New Orleans, but I don't think that exists (anyone wanna enlighten me as to how that album made its way under the 'vinyl' list?) That old Fan Club stuff that Johnny got on eBay is pretty rad - I'd trade for one of those!

Non-MMJ record wise I'm always looking for stuff from my other favorite bands (The Wave Pictures, Galaxie 500, Pavement, Micah P Hinson, Minus Story, Silver Jews, Sunset Rubdown, Songs; Ohia...I could keep going). I'm also looking for a non-vinyl things, like a Plaubel Makina 67 but that wouldn't be a fair trade to the other party. I'm not being totally serious but I'm open to offers ;)

robb

as far as i remember, wasn't dear new orleans a digital only release?

danz, broken hearts and dirty windows on vinyl will pop up on amazon from time to time, they've had two copies in the last week or so but they're sold out at the moment.  also, i might be interested in making a play on gold hole, but eric definitely gets first crack.
some get stoned, some get strange, sooner or later it all gets real.

danz

Thanks robb, I scored one on elusivedisc.com - they have it in stock if anyone's lookin...

Crispy

I think I'll grab one of those Elusivedisc Broken Hearts myself. The recordshelf is done, I posted a picture of the beast in the Vinyl Questions thread in the Other Music section.

Hey, how come I don't get first crack at the extra Gold Hole? I revise my offer to include the Galaxie 500 that's currently holding down my driveway, but you have to come get it too.

oops, i forgot you were the one that got all that started.  either way i'll take my rightful spot at the end of the line.

I'm just kidding, robb, I don't have anything good enough to trade. Eric?

Was there a yellow version of Ciudad? Or am I just making this up?

Does anyone know? I could've sworn I heard/read that there was a yellow version, but since it's found its way into my brain I haven't seen anything other than black.

danz

I'm saying negative on a yellow version of Ciudad

Good. One less thing I need.

e_wind

It came in 4 pressings: Black, Red, Blue, Yellow. I believe that Yellow, Blue and Red we reeased all at once, and then Black was released as a second pressing
I'm almost positive of this.

EDIT: according the Deadformats, it was released in a "translucent yellow/gold pressing of 625"

I just added Rave On, Buddy Holly and The Music is You to the list. I didn't know RAve On was released on Vinyl.

I dont have anything good enough to trade, since I only really focus on MMJ vinyl, and you have the set. Anything non-MMJ that I buy is either Pearl Jam, Wilco, or something that is easily found anywhere. I have money and friendship, though.

Danz, glad that worked out for you.  My copy arrived Saturday and it sounds very nice.  In all of my online ordering, I don't believe I've ever seen better packaging.  About 8 ft of bubble wrap in a nice record box.  I will definitely do business with Elusive again!

That record got alot of criticism in some forums, I guess because John Prine is John Prine, but I love the versions.  I remember when Jim and John played Letterman(?) and performed "All the Best."  That Deer Tick cover of Unwed Fathers is staggering. Liz Isenberg just killed it.
