No wonder the new album feels like a much more melancholy TVOTR....damn

Crazy to die that young from anything, but lung cancer?! Lung cancer obviously has a poor prognosis, but for it to set in so young? Wow.

Wasn't he 36?  Any way what a shame.  He is a very good bassist who brought an awful lot to their overall sound.  He will be deeply missed in future endeavors by the band.  Listening to Nine Types of Light.  This news imo gives an even more somber feel to the album that was already not as upbeat.
