Opening with Victory Dance into Circuital...they know what's up

any setlist that has Steam Engine is a good setlist.

SplatSplatSplat

so sick brah.  i feel so sorry for widespread - they have to follow this heat.
You need it.  That's for sure.

Thanks Linda.   Great setlist, although the realities of another album, and therefore some classics dropping out, are apparent.   When was the last MMJ show without Golden? (excluding T5).   BH - check the spreadsheet ?!?

SplatSplatSplat

Dude they only played 90 minutes.  Only 15 songs - something's gotta go.

MMJ eats sets like this for breakfast.
You need it.  That's for sure.

Sticky Icky Green Stuff

nice song selection.  I dig it for festival set.

The King is lookin' FINE...

Really curious how they're doing Black Metal.  Are they sampling the choir and horns via Bo?  It must've been fun.

And I know First Light is gonna explode on stage.  Like many of their great live songs, its a bit more muted on the album.  And Victory Dance is a great opener; I start every morning playing it out of my driveway and off to work, often playing the whole album during my 45 minute commute.  Into Circuital, then some classic Jacket, is sweet.

I know you guys are having a great time ('cause no one's posted yet).  I wish I could join you but I think we all have a busy summer/fall to look forward to.

Report in, team.  Details!!!  Tapers???
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Do you get sad when "Freak Out" abbruptly stops?  I will not listen to the album straight through until I have that song complete.

four new songs!  i still haven't heard first light or victory dance.  kind of weird to read the set list and not be able to imagine the show.  kind of rad, too.  ;)

The DARK

Awesome setlist. Touch Me Pt 2-->Holdin on to Black Metal-->OBH seems like an awesome way to close.

I don't mind Golden getting a break. It's not exactly a rocker (and this is a festival setlist), and they have to be tired of playing it at every show for ISM, Z, OKO, and EU tours. Truth be told, all these songs are epic and deserving. Their catalogue of greatness is becoming so huge that 5 shows with no repeats can each be individually considered awesome  ;).

The 4 songs they played here are probably all going to be live monsters. Can't wait for the release party  :D.

That was my point too - something's gotta go.   And I'm not complaining - I've seen Golden at every show I've seen, so I'm fine with giving it a rest.   I'm pumped as hell to hear the new songs.  I was just making an observation.   Excluding very short shows (levon helm, bridge school) I've never seen a setlist without Golden.   If I said that there's never been a 15 song setlist without Golden since, say, 2002, don't you think that's noteworthy?

Good point and I agree.  Although Golden was probably the first song that really grabbed me, I'm okay with not hearing it for awhile.

Off subject - has anyone heard from anyone at Hangout?  I've got several friends that I figured I'd get a text from (couple of MMJ virgins), and I haven't heard from any on them.  Just wondering if there are cell issues over there?

From the success of the Tennessee Fire show at Terminal 5 I hope the band realizes they need to incorporate some of those songs on the upcoming tour. Its twighlight now was one of the best songs I have ever seen them perform and to be honest that song, heartbreakin man and war begun are just flat out better songs than Im amazed and highly suspicious which seem to get played at every show now.
