Ey Penny! I'm like you guys, sore as all hell! Humidity and whatnot (lots of whatnot) was dehydrating my ass out there but we kept it real and rocked out like the champs we are.

Big thanks to the Greeks for the random beer showering, by the way -

I feel so unproductive today. I am ready to rock.

BTW: If anyone wants to say hi, I'll be out with my radio station in front of the amp entrance around 6 or so. It's the station that starts with a B.  ;)
I didn't see this until now. Were you a tall guy in a red tshirt with glasses handing out magnets? I talked to that guy. We were the two women from tn. One short and really fit, the other taller and not fit (me).

Not only the random beer throwing, but also the 8ft drunk guy who somehow squeezed in front of me and couldn't get any closer. Then he preceeded to either talk to his friend or just be a total douche for the rest of the night. I finally got so disgusted that I left and moved much further back. Drunk 19yr olds who don't really want to see the show can ruin it for the ones who do.

Man, that was just what I needed...  We met Rowan and his friend at Wilhagen's beforehand and had great time shooting the shit.  Our bill came and my wife says it looks like they didn't charge us for any alcohol...  I'm like, no that doesn't happen.  I remembered him saying he would buy me a beer if I went so I'm thinking to myself if he picked up this tab....  I tell our server she didn't charge us and she confirms that "someone" took care of it.  So, thanks again for that!

Some thoughts on the show...  First, that amphitheater is gorgeous.  What an asset for Tuscaloosa.  I wish the dipshit fratboy that walked by saying, "this place is going to burn to the ground" realized that.   Phosphorescent was awesome.  I'd love to see them play their own show.  We went to go get a couple more beers toward the end of the set and ran into Rowan again.  We were having a good time shooting the shit so we hung out there all through Neko's set (we could still hear her).
We get to our seats right at 945 and perfect timing.  The show was incredible, sound was perfect and the place was bumping.   That pit was feeling it and it was a huuuuge pit. Tons of people down there.  I never looked behind me so, I'm not sure how the reaction up there was.  If it was anything like mine, that place had to have been going nuts. Sorry if I was annoying to anyone, but I was definitely "in the zone" and rocked it from start to finish.  I "think" I respected my personal space bubble.
A couple other thoughts... Patrick looked like he might have been sick still.  Anyone else notice?  He looked at one point like he was leaning over his kit like he was just exhausted.  And another time looked like he might have thrown up?  Curious if anyone else can confirm.  You couldn't tell by his playing though.
Setlist... surprised to not get any real rarities, but not disappointed in the least.  I did a pretty good job of avoiding the setlists prior to.  Just kind of scanned them for the rarities but ignored the rest.  Steam Engine was worth the price alone.  Jim has some serious swagger on that stage.  Big time.  He acknowleged the crowd, "best fucking crowd we've played for in a long time".  Everyone here knows he doesn't really throw that around.  Also, being a big Outkast fan, I loved his "hootie hoo, Tuscaloosa" after their encore break.  I think that's it.  Oh, Jim's voice sounded great.  One crack during Gideon, but that's it.  When has his voice ever not cracked at least once?  IMO, that's part of the beauty of it.
All in all, a great time as always.  Can't wait until next time!

No; that was another station. My station was the one handing out fans. I was the unbearably attractive redhead with glasses in a pink halter dress. LOL.

I had a great time at the show. That version of "Steam Engine" blew my mind. Loved the show poster, too. I will post a pic of it soon. It's adorable.

Pooch was totally representing Friday night. He was in a houndstooth hat (a la Bear Bryant) and a United Way tee with a Crimson tie. Awesome.

I'm glad I got to see you again, Jon. Hope you enjoyed your time in the City of Champions!
