First time seeing them and I thought it was great.  Was down on the 3rd row of seats taping, glad my gear didn't get soaked.  They didn't waste anytime between songs so we got as many songs possible in there before 11.  I'll post my recording on archive tomorrow and post it here.

Did you have a red t-shirt on with a number on the back?  I was to your right (in Section 101) on the aisle.  I was going to say something to you, but you had so many people coming up to you I'd thought I'd leave you alone and was hoping you would do the right thing, which you are.  Many thanks for recording the show.

Yeah that was me, I had on an atlanta braves jersey, I was in the 2nd seat so right on the aisle pretty much.  Sounds good from what i've heard so far.

Yea, you know they were monitoring the weather.  I am sure that Sugarland event has everyone scared.  Neko finished at 8:15.  It looked like they could have been ready to come out by 8:45, pre-rain.  Then it started raining and that pushed everything back.  I was not too happy with that venue and might not be back.  I've never been to an ampitheatre where it was completely open like that.  Rain or shine means the show goes on.  I mean, look at the the Golden/Steam Engine video from Bonnaroo.  I know that is edited, but it was raining.  If it had been raining and they were playing, that would have helped the vibe.  Everyone was just sitting in the rain.

Understand that it wasn't the rain that stopped the show.. it was the threat of lightning. I saw a concert there in 2009 and it poured the entire show, but the band played through. This wasn't an issue of discomfort, or rain coming on the stage. It was for safety.

Yea, I know.  From that standpoint, we really got lucky.  It could have been a nightmare.  Not sure if it was covered and lightning if it had been any different.  I saw a show at the big pavilion a few years ago and it was lightning/raining and it went on.  Woulda, coulda, shoulda.  How easy would life be if we had all the answers and knew what was going to happen 30 minutes from now?  I can be disappointed that the show was not longer, the wait, etc. but could never fault the performance itself.  What a great evening!

I saw a Nine Inch Nails show at the big ampitheatre in Charlotte several years ago, and they actually stopped the show because of lightning and asked everyone to go to their cars. It actually continued to rain but they said they were waiting for the lightning to pass. They said they were watching the lightning strikes and when that passed, they'd open the gates. When it passed, it was still raining but they let everyone back in and resumed the show. That seems to be what they did there. Just saying.. I don't think rain had anything to do with it.

It was definitely the lightning. I saw it from afar in the pit, knew it was coming our way. Sucks. As other posters have said, the guys did their best to try and cram as much in. I was disappointed with the weather and venue restrictions, but give MMJ props for putting on an incredible show in the amount of time they had. I just hate it b/c for once, they were in my back yard and I didn't have to travel. Oh well, them's the breaks. Hopefully they'll come back. Thought it was a good crowd, especially for a rainy Sunday night. Had fun partying in the pit, videos to follow after this post.

NSL - Thank you, it sounds GREAT!

I don't know if it was being in the pit, the alcohol, the anxiety from the threat of a cancelled show... but this show, while everything pointed to disappointment, was anything but. The energy was great. Yes, I wish we would've got a full set... but what we got was nothing short of 100%.

The one thing that pissed me off was several members of the stage crew (I'm assuming Amphitheater employees and not MMJ's) were laughing and waving goodbye very condescendingly when the rain was coming down like they were happy to get off early. Did anyone else see this?

Until next time!

This was my lucky #13 (#17 if you include Jim James related shows)...

My girlfriend was able to obtain a setlist.  Behind it was the original setlist.

Would anyone like to see the original setlist?  Or should we just leave it alone?
