Hello All.  I have 'lurked' here for years, but have been spurred to sign in to help get the number to 100.  Silly, I know, but whatever, hopefully I can contribute to the forum in the future.

This will be my fourth MMJ show and my excitement level is building by the day.  Previous shows included - Philly in 2008?,  NYE at MSG in 2008 (on my 40th birthday, amazing!), and Outside Lands in SF last year.

I will be attending with a few friends, two of whom were at the NYE show in 2008 with me, and one who has never seen MMJ before (he's going to be blown away). Thanks to everyone who shares information here and hope everyone has a great night on Wednesday.

i don't know that they'll be out there as early as 9 if BOH goes til 830. maybe though.

i'm getting the pre-show anxiety complete with some super negative prospects. What if they 'treat' MSG to a heavy circuital show because last year they played t5? what if they don't think MSG needs to be special because they hooked NYC up last year?


it'll without a doubt be on of  my most fun days of 2011 regardless, so i need to be positive.

I've been to shows there that ran well past midnight, but I know for a fact it's more of a union $ issue, than an MSG/NYC ordinance. Those union crews get some nice ot$ after midnight.

There is no f'n way that's going to happen. Have you seen the setlists lately. Go drop a xanax and chill. I know what you mean though about the pre-show anxiety. I'm having pre-trip anxiety. I get it every time I go somewhere and it's a little worse since I'm traveling alone. I haven't been sleeping too well at night for about the past week. I keep telling myself to quit with the worrying. It's going to be just fine.

Oh yeah, that's who gets hit. The fact that tix are pretty much the same $ as other venues, tells me we're probably looking at a midnight or earlier ending.

Good example is Phish on their New Years MSG run. All the shows cost the same except for NYE which is $10.00 more. They're not charging to play longer as it's a treat for them too,it's to cover the overtime costs. Practically everything in NYC is union, and with that comes extra $ for ot.
