Philly onsale was a snap.  Got a GA for each night.  Eric, will you be in da house?  Anyone else?

Hoping to see the Springsteen RnR hall of fame exhibit during the day before one of the shows.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Ga for both nights!! I was only going to go night 1, but when I got through for ga's, I couldn't resist pulling the trigger on night 2.  :o  ;)

I'm pretty sure Janecool and her husband Jon are going night 2, and maybe a few more Roll Callers. We'll definitely have to plan a get-together. Should be a helluva Labor Day weekend.

Looks like Hartford got one helluva show tonight! I sure hope Ant made his way there.

Some gems in there for sure, and only the early four pack, and Shackled late off the new one might signal a shift in the tour. (Not counting LOHAD since that's been around for years). Kitty  to open the encores is a sweet treat!!

Yes, Hartford looks like it was great.  Pittsburgh last night also got a really interesting setlist.

I caught the Charlottesville show on Tuesday and it was also a great one.  Besides how great he is at always throwing in some great song picks, I love how he is messing with the structure of the sets at this point (Shackled and Drawn to open, no Rising late in the set, no We Are Alive to open the encores, etc.).  This five-pack from Charlottesville was amazing:

9. Seaside Bar Song
10. Give the Girl a Kiss
11. Lost in the Flood
12. This Depression
13. Murder Incorporated
14. Johnny 99

This Depression really takes on new life live, with very prominent guitar work from Nils throughout.  Also great in Charlottesville to hear both Backstreets and Jungleland.

Eric, hope you get to make it to the motherland for the Yum! Center show. Seems like the tour is taking new wings, as they usually do late in the game.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Totally agree about him shaking up the structure of the show, and I'm glad he's doing it. Kinda typical of his arena show  after stadium leg of the tour.

Glad to see he's pulled Jack Of All Trades out of the set recently. Good song, and like hearing it on the album, but it really seemed to be a buzz kill live, and momentum killer.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my Yum plans due to this storm. Too much craziness here now to be able to get away. Here's hoping for a late MSG/ Barclays announcement. If not, my arena shows are going to have to wait til 2013.

Glad to see you got to Charlottesville, and that five pack was pretty sweet.

So is it safe to say that Bruce will add some arena shows for next year? Or is he winding down for a bit?

The tour will continue well into 2013.

Most likely a very similar model. U.S./ Canada arenas in the spring, followed by another summer in Europe, with most likely some more U.S. shows next summer/fall. The only question seems to be if they hit Australia/ New Zealand or maybe even Japan in early 2013.

Once that train gets rollin', it's tough to stop!

Rumor has another album in the works, if not done already.

All I'm asking for is another Nashville/Louisville/Atlanta/etc show next year. And already rumors of another album? There is no way that Bruce can possibly be human.

It happens!

When you've been to so many shows, one is the same as five or six.  Hell, I  couldn't care less the number, give me those tunes, and I'll be very happy.

Edit to say sorry Kyle. Didn't mean to come off as that much of a hard ass. After quite a few  watching the Giants, and almost blowing one vs the Pokes, and reading a Bruce post, I might've gotten carried away. Point being, for us Bruce fanatics, give us a nice four to six or however many pack, and no way we can count straight.

I fully blame Duke University for this, I knew that was a shitty choice.

the upcoming YUM! show will be my first springsteen show ever.

i've never been a huge fan, but this was an opportunity i couldn't let pass.    i only have 2 of his albums, very early ones, e street shuffle and born to run.   2 classics that i wouldn't be without.   for whatever reason, aside from the occasional song (like hungry heart) the interest just wasn't/isn't there for most of the rest of his stuff.

but i know i'm in for a treat on saturday.  being 3 days before the election, i hope he keeps the political stuff to a minimum.

last thought.....where's jim these days?   maybe a brief guest appearance with his fellow obama devotee?

Jackets N Pones

Here it is, in its entirety, our cover of ELO's Telephone Wire

slappymoe

so my group of 6 were leaving the troll pub, heading into the show.

the 4 women went in, but my buddy and i decided to go back to his car for a quick smoke.

sufficiently altered, we headed into the arena and found our group waiting in the concourse.

when the girls saw us, they all started shrieking..."oh my god, you won't believe this!!! you just missed him, no more than 45 seconds ago!!!"

moral of the story.......just say no to drugs, and you'll meet jim james.

slappymoe

and i'd like to thank jim for being so gracious to my mildly inebriated sis.  she says she asked, "aren't you yim yames?"

"i'm jim."

"i think my brother loves you."

probably true, but not in that way.

not that there's anything wrong with that.

e_wind

I was there last night, based on a last minute decision. I get it, Bruce is a hell of a performer, and the music sounds great, but I could do without the the gimmicks and cheesy choreography.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

APR

slappymoe.... that is some bad timing.  I hope it didn't effect the rest of your night.  I would have been bummed about those 45 seconds.

Something like that happened to me years ago.  I almost never stepped out of the place I was working in NYC (even for a few minute break).  The one time I did, because my wife stopped by and wanted to grab a soda, Johnny Ramone came in.  I just missed him.  I was never a Ramones fan but it would have been cool to see/meet a legend.
