I heard that guy got tossed. :o

I'm almost never on the floor for Bruce, so odds are you'd have a hard time finding me. It's not a first comes first on the rail at Bruce shows. He does a ga lottery for the pit. Its great if you get in, but not so much if you don't,imo. I don't like to risk it, so I use my tried and true method of getting a great seat, and other than MSG, it almost never fails.

The only time I do the pit for Bruce is when he has a designated Pit ticket. If it's ga with a lottery,I'm in a seat.

Here's a pretty funny little clip from last night. The guy woohoohing is a bit annoying, but you gotta love Bruce. Too bad he didn't come to the other side, cause that's exactly where I was sitting last night.

Raise Your Hand:

Bruce Springsteen drinks a beer, sings Raise Your Hand 3/28/12 Philadelphia

Thanks Fully. I did have a blast!

One of these days Crispy! You'd have enjoyed t. There were plenty of Jazz Hands flying last night! ;) Hopefully he comes your way in the fall. (That's what I'm hearing)

Man this one brought back some memories. Summer at the Jersey Shore when it meant something more than what those two words mean now.

This one's for you Jeff.

'"There's something about a pretty girl on a sweet summer night that gets this boy excited."

Wow, Eric awesome clip.   Don't know if I've ever seen him do that one before although I've LOVED that song ever since I got in in high school on the Fire On The Fingertips bootleg.  Was thrilled when they finally put it on tracks.
As my son said to me when I took him to his first bruce show at age 6 "Dad, doesn't anyone ever sit down at a Bruce show?"

Bet it was a special night.

Philly2 was an oustanding show! Great for all the "seasoned vets" ( not bragging, just don't like to use the term "old"  ;) ). I know a few people I went with would've liked a few more hits, but I'll take an 11:00"Thundercrack", and a 14:30 "Kitty's Back" everytime!

The show had something for everyone, including a spot on "Streets Of Philadelphia" for the hometown folks.  8)

It was great to get one of my all time faves in "Night" in the 3rd slot, just a little bummed that it took the place of "Badlands".

The double shot of Prove It All Night > Darkness On The Edge Of Town was a real highlight for me, and a bit of a flashback moment, as 78 was the first tour I caught.

Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped" was really well done, and always a moving song.

I'm a fan of all the new stuff, and they're really done well live, but I think Bruce, and Patty's duet on "Easy Money" just might be the best duet I've seen them do. This one really works.

Thunder Road!- nuff said

Kitty in the encore was one of the best songs of the night for me. It was roaring, especially with a 5 piece horn section. The whole band  really got to show their chops on this one, and I loved, loved, loved it!  ;D

It was a really sweet Philly moment to once again see Bruce bring his almost 90 year old mom onstage for a dance during "Dancing In The Dark". Courtney Cox would've been proud of Adele!

Tenth Ave. to close is fitting. It's a real show stopper, and to see Bruce still going strong almost 3 hours into the show brings a smile everytime. I really missed the Big Man here, but the Clarence tribute moments are touching, and pretty cool, but still tug at the heart strings.

Bruce leaving the stage at the end of Philly2 - "WE"LL BE BACK"!

Next up for me is MSG1 this coming Friday, and then MSG2 with headhunter, and Pennylane!! Really looking forward to that, and it should be a great night all around.

Setlist:
We Take Care of Our Own
Wrecking Ball
Night
Death to My Hometown
My City of Ruins
Thundercrack
Jack of All Trades
Trapped
Easy Money
Prove It All Night
Darkness on the Edge of Town
Waitin' on a Sunny Day
The Promised Land
Apollo Medley
Streets of Philadelphia
The Rising
We Are Alive
Thunder Road
* * *
Rocky Ground (with Michelle Moore)
Kitty's Back
Born to Run
Dancing in the Dark
Tenth Avenue Freeze-out

Gotta include a clip of "Thundercrack". This one was only out on boots, and goes back a long ways to the clubs along the Jersey Shore.

There was a girl with her mom at Philly1 with a "Thundercrack For My Dad In Iraq" sign that Bruce saw too late to play. He did bring them backstage for some pics, gave them tix to Philly2, and told them he would play it then! There's a couple of quick shots of them in the video. Gotta love that man!  8)

Eric, your review of night 2 is excellent.  As a seasoned vet, I understand completely what you wrote and if I had been lucky enough to be there, I would have mirrored your thoughts.

She's sweet as hell. She always shakes her head like "no,no, no" when he comes to get her...but never fails to get up there and get down! I think that's where Bruce gets some of his schtick from!  ;)

Sat right behind her a few times, but Thursdays show there was tons of family there, and security was all over the first several rows of our section. We ended up about a dozen rows behind her this time.

Yes they did.

There were a couple of Danny/ Big Man moments where it's hard for a fan not to get a bit emotional, but I like that they're celebrated, and definitely not forgotten! 8)

Still no Jungleland yet though. Maybe MSG2!  I'm not really counting on it, cause I think it'll be a while before that's played again, if ever. Clarence's nephew Jake has more than held his own on sax, imo, just don't know if anyone could pull off that solo.

They didn't drop any of Danny's big keyboard/accordian songs when he passed, so hopefully that's a good sign as far as Jungleland goes, and they don't drop it. If it's going to be played soon, my money's on MSG.

Sassbox and I caught the fantastic show in DC last night.  I thought Tampa was very special and wouldn't be topped, but I was very wrong.

We were treated to some of the special things aired in Philly, such as Seaside Bar Song, Trapped, and Night, and also got She's the One.

Sassbox had a premonition before the show about Because the Night, and it was played, Bruce said by request.  Completely with a rocking and spinning Nils Lofgren at the end.

Also three tour premiers tonight with Adam Raised a Cain, Out in the Street (sign request), and The Promise, yes The Promise.

Have fun at MSG,  you guys, that is going to be unreal.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Looks like you got another great show Jon. Then again are any of them not? ;)

Because The Night has always been high on my list, and getting a full band "The Promise"?  :o  8) Good for you. Now if he'd care to play some off that album at MSG, I know headhunter, and I would be very grateful!  ;)  Any chance you might make the trek up here for one of those? You seem to be a good luck charm for getting "Promise" tunes!  ;D Three in two shows!

Glad you and Sassbox had a good time, and got to see such a good show. This tour is already shaping up as better than the 1st leg of Magic, and is right up there with the early Reunion shows of 99,imo. I'm thinking real hard about getting to that Newark show to close out this leg.

I'm hearing about some stadiums on the 2nd leg, but really hoping there's arenas mixed in. I'm not a big fan of stadium shows, but maybe Wrigley or someplace cool like that wouldn't be bad. Either way I know my concert budget is going to get blown to hell this year, especially if MMJ comes back around too. ;D

Due to some work travel there is no way I can make it up to MSG.  Newark is definitely possible, though.  Eric, let's keep in touch on that one.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Sassbox

Yeah...yeah...yeah...what Mr. Whippy said! I am still exhausted and unbelievably giddy. I just about fell out when he brought up the request for Out in the Street (a personal fave, I know it's not a rarity or one for the diehards, but I've got some great memories attached to that one). And She's The One. YEAH!!!

Brought a friend who isn't really a fan and hadn't listened to Bruce since the mid-80s. He's also not one prone to praise and he was absolutely blown away.

Great night!  ;D
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

ericm

Glad you got one of your faves, Sass.  Out In The Street is definitely a fun one live.

Great that he did "The Promise". Love the song, and these few lines......

When the promise is broken you go on living
But it steals something from down in your soul
Like when the truth is spoken and it don't make no difference
Something in your heart goes cold

Talking last night at dinner with Penny, and Headhunter about some of his classic shows from the past, made me have to post this classic.

Bruce Springsteen - Prove It All Night - Passaic, NJ - High Quality

i never knew this was such a jam..one of my favorite Bruce songs...

Tired Eyes

I was on BTX today reading about ticket stuff and someone posted that they got tickets for 4/9 by calling Ticketmaster.  I called but was too late...all the tickets were gone.  Bummer.  I will keep trying for MSG but it looks like I'll have to try for a Newark ticket to see this leg of the tour.
I listened to disc 1 of Tracks today.  It still sounds great.  I will probably listen to some more later on.

I agree the intro from the Largo show is hard to top!

I'll always have great memories of the Passaic show though because it was simulcast on WNEW FM in NYC.  8)
I  remember hanging out listening to that a few weeks after seeing my first Bruce show at MSG!

We've been chasing those intros ever since, but I don't think we'll ever get it again. Still a GREAT song, but man how I wish he'd break out that intro sometime.
