I'd forgotten how $$ Galt House is...let me know where everyone books...
The Hyatt is a bit cheaper and i'd get my Hyatt points  ;)

what's the cheapest place to stay within walking distance?  the hotels listed on the forecastle site are stretching my budget pretty thin...
some get stoned, some get strange, sooner or later it all gets real.

Woohoo!

What about the Brown?  Not too far.

Curious about these aftershows on the Belle...
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

I'm trying to make this happen, but meeting resistance.  Its well deserved, for all the MMJ-related shows, travelling, and money spent over the past 3 years.

Any restrictions as to how long MMJ will play Saturday night?  Curfews, noise ordiances?  I'd think the local-boys-made-good would get to play to sunrise if they so desired.

Priceline 3.5 or 4 star downtown L'ville.

I got the Marriott, and a friend the Hyatt for $100.00 for the Yum show. I know this will bring more people into the city, and hotels will cost more $, but it's worth a shot.

Tell me about it.  If I approach my wife with one more event she is going to shoot me.  We were in for Jazz Fest, then I was out, then I was back.  Now this.  I think I'm going to officially call it quits on Jazz Fest and try and make this happen.

To try and answer your question.  I believe there is 11pm curfew at the Waterfront.  However, when they played in 08, the curfew was extended a little because they came on a little later to give more time for the massive crowd to get in.  So, I believe it's a little flexible but I wouldn't count on too much.

In 2010 The Flaming Lips elected to play their set w/o an encore because of a curfew.  Must have been 11.  I don't remember the exact time because memory loss is apparently a symptom of heat stroke.  Or bourbon.

In 2010 some shows ended at 12. With the mayor "on board", I would guess it'll be 12 curfew. I bet MMJ gets a 3 hr slot. remember, last time they played the waterfront there was a 30+ song set list.

Nevermind, I just changed my reservation to The Galt House. See y'all there.

I'd love to meet your wife. I hope she decides to go. You could take her on a day trip to some of the distilleries. Or heck we could all do that. There has got to be something romantic you could do to win her over. Or just start charging for omnichord lessons  ;D ! I've heard it's a high-demand instrument!

this is exciting. I hope this includes VIP viewing area for just that show, since the rail is impossible without VIP passes at forecastle. I also hope it includes some sort of side/late night show. I am soooooooo pumped. I know I'm biased, but Forecastle is such a great festival.

you need to MARKET the fest better than that..use the word CURATING and say that MMJ are handpicking all the bands---you need to present it more as something enriching for her rather than her having to endure all your geeky MMJ friends and feeding your MMJ neuroses...be creative--same goes for Mahgeeta..

Optimism led me to book Galt for 2 nights- Sat & Sun.  This will either royally piss of the Mrs. or help her give in.  Just in case, anyone got a couch I can crash on?
