I said Mayweather rolls to an easy UD. Ended up being a MD since one judge was apparently drunk on Canelo.

Yeah, a tied card was absurd for Canelo, and I think even the 112-116 card was giving him too much credit. Thats about what I would've expected pre-fight, but I thought Floyd almost pitched a shutout.

Some good fights this past weekend. Adonis Stevenson was very impressive winning the first 7 rounds, forcing Cloud to throw in the towel and have his first loss. Stevenson only has 1 loss from 3 years, and he KO'd that guy in a rematch earlier this year. He has KO'd all of his opponents in the 9 fights since the loss.

Also, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr got a joke of a UD win vs Brian Vera in a fight nobody Ive seen thought he won, and that was AFTER JCC Jr was able to get the fight renegotiated to 10lbs above the original deal. Dude is probably the biggest joke in boxing.

Tons of great fights the next couple months. Based on what's occurred so far, and what Id expect based on what's remaining for the rest of the year, this is the best year by far that I can recall since starting to be a big boxing fan about 8 years ago.

Some lame fights on HBO this past weekend with Klitchsko in a snoozer and Cotto getting a 2nd round stoppage.

I agree it has been a good year for boxing though headdy.  Two great fights although I'm still confused by those that put Alvarado/Rios II over Bradley/Pravahdnikov.  Both amazing but the latter was just better.

Anyone catch Ruslan Provodnikov vs Mike Alvarado title fight from October 19th? It was almost as great as Provodnikov vs Bradley. WOW!!

I'm looking forward to Hatian-Canadian Adonis Stevenson destroy Tony Bellow in the upcoming WBC light-heavyweight title bout. Quebec is a hotbed of boxing and Stevenson is one of the best from that province.

Yeah, the Klitschko and Cotto fights were slam dunks, as I pretty much expected. Cotto is still just a cut below the best P4P it seems. I think he needs more seasoning and a step up in competition before he fights a Klits, but Deontay Wilder looks like the real deal, and finally that next great American heavyweight.

Bradley/Provodnikov was def better than Alvarado/Rios II. I actually think the best fight I saw this year beside Bradley/Provodnikov was Omar Figueroa/Arakawa. Figueroa is another fighter I have my eye on as a rising star in the making.

Heard Alvarado/Provodnikov was a good one, but I had to work that night. Is there any sort of website where you can watch fights after the fact? (ie not live streaming sites)

Last month was the first time Ive seen Stevenson, he definitely impressed me. Honestly I dont see why he wouldnt move up to HW in the near future.

Hey Jaimoe,

I thought Alvarado/Provodnikov was a great fight because I was rooting for Ruslan.  I love that dude.  Not sure it compares favorably to Bradley/Provodnikov though.  That was an up and down battle with true grit and I still think the wrong person won.  Bradley is 2 for 2   With Alvarado, except for a couple of rounds, Provodnikov's power hooks to the head and body were obviously breaking Alvarado down and we already knew how good Ruslan's chin was.  It was entertaining for sure but not the back and forth of the Bradley fight.  Loving Gennady Golovkin as well.

I've only seen Stevenson once and that was that 1st round KO from last year.  I know he has thunderous power and he is already in this mid 30's, but haven't heard how he has fared against an experienced, talented boxer in the later rounds.

Hey Headdy.  If you have HBO, all the fights from this year are free on demand.

Yes, the HBO fights should be On-Demand. Sometimes they repeat during the week, at least they do on HBO Canada.

I thought Bradley won the fight against Ruslan, but lost in the damage department; kinda like when George Chavalo battled Ali for 15-rounds (in their first bout), broke Ali's ribs, lost the fight, but looked no worse for the wear and went out dancing with his wife later that night whereas Ali checked in to a Toronto hospital.

I won't be concerned about Stephenson's age. He's a late bloomer, not unlike Sergio Garcia. Adonis seems to be good in the later rounds, according to his record:

Damn, I didn't realize Stevenson was that old. He didn't even fight as a pro until he was nearly 30, so the late bloomer title may be apt, or just that he started boxing later than your standard guy. Its not like he struggled early on or anything.

I don't have HBO/on demand, I don't even have any cable/satellite, I stream everything online, legal and otherwise  :bath:
