Hey sticky, find somewhere else to be a piece of shit human being.  Your act is way old.

This!  We get it sticky.  You hate the world.  Your act is incredibly tired and lame.  I love how when someone calls you out you go with the I don't give a shit card and then proceed to berate and belittle whoever calls you out.  So obviously you do give a shit?!

Isn't there a forum around where you can find like minded piece of shit human beings like yourself?  If there isn't one, maybe you should start one.

Hey all, managed to make it in to nyc today on the first LIRR train to run.
House has no power and trees down everywhere but I consider us lucky.
Probably have no power for at least another week but have many friends who lost alot with trees falling on their houses, cars etc.
No water damage by us but I really feel for all those poor souls in NJ and those who have lost houses due to fires and floods.

Happy to be back at work today to try and catch up and nice to have an internet again.

Hope all of you in the MMJ community fared ok and thanks for the good thoughts and vibes.

was some shakin' and some record playin'

I'd like to take a moment to thank my parents for raising me to be a kind and respectful adult.  Thanks Mom and Dad.

I also would like to thank your parents

and tater, here's to your parents!

as well as walterfredos!

and to all the parents who raised their kids to be kind and respectful adults who know enough to conduct themselves in a loving and kind way in a thread where it's needed.

Prayers, good vibes and mojo to all the peeps up and down the east coast. And a special shout out to the Coast Guard who was hard hit but still assisting. Semper Paratus!

Thanks Trace. I thank my parents every day for not putting me in a pillow case and throwing me into the river like they did the kittens.

My neighbor use to do that to kittens. That's why I've had so many cats. Headhunter, I'm glad you are beginning to get back to normal. I hope Mrs. Headhunter, Headhunter, Jr., and you don't get too cold at night. And ericm, wherever you are, I hope things get better for you too soon. I have the same wishes for all of you affected by this.

Brian-dodo bird is A ok    he said they evacuated Breezy Point. His block is under water and that the next one over looks like a bomb hit it. So sad. That is a very tight community out there, hoping that they find their biggest strength in that fact.

Brian said that he has not been on since they switched the forum, now he knows. He will be at the Capital for Friday and Saturday! He ask that I let you all know he is looking for 2 tickets for Thursday at Port Chester. PM him if you have any leads.

Thanks Bluesky! I am back at work today. First time logging on here in ages. When they switched the format I got turned off and never came back.

Please keep Breezy Point in your thougths and prayers. It looks like a scene from World War II. Lucky my house is still standing and we will be able to get some clothes and other items out. I was living there full time with my parents. We are with my brother Pat in Bayside Queens now. Our community so very strong and most people plan to re-build.

Looking forward to the Capital Theatre!!! It anyone has 2 extras for Thursday night please PM me! I will play the bagpipes at your Chirstmas party for free!!

Cheers,
B
Wakin up feelin good and limber!

Holy hell was Sandy a bitch! I live in Bucks County, PA (right across from Trenton, NJ) & we got slammed pretty hard. We haven't had power since Monday but it appears that we may get it back tonight. Fingers crossed. Our house took no noticable damage but many in our area were not so lucky. My office opened today so I was able to get interweb access & check on all you fine folks. Glad to hear everyone made it through relatively safe!

Thoughts going out to all those affected. I'm hoping ericm's house survived. Long beach Island got fucking rocked. My family has a house there & from initial reports it sounds like we only got flooding on our lower floor. We may have gotten super lucky. Time will tell.
Homer no function beer well without.

You guys remember JBones72? His place was demolished out on Garrettson Beach--he's safe and staying with his folks in NJ, they're still without power. Thoughts go out to him and to Dodo. Glad to hear from you.

Peafunk--hope you and Mrs. P and baby are doing okay and get power back soon.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Oh man, JBOnes.  Hope everyone is hanging in there mentally.  It's been a rough go for people around here, and there have been lives lost.  I think it's starting to wear on people - the lack of power, lack of ability to get around due to the mass transit issues, the lack of GAS! It's like the 1970s around here with the gas lines.  Anyone as (OLD) as me remember those days? I can remember being in the car with my Mom, and the license plate number would determine which days you could get gas.  It was like that back then, only this time, there are cars and people in long lines, standing and waiting for hours.
As with most things in life, there are bright sides to things.  The comeraderie and support of communities pulling together has been inspiring and healing.  I have said about 100 times over the past few days how very lucky we were to have come through this unscathed.  We have done what we could here and there to help out, but generally people's spirits are pretty high considering the circumstances.  Again, I am not in a hard hit area, but I am close to those areas, and have many many friends and families who have been displaced.
I am really thinking of ericm and LBI all the time...it really seems to be utterly gone.  I know that he and all of the others will get through this, and life will go on as it has before.
Thanks to all of you sweeties for your concern :)

See ya in PC!  xo

Thanks, Penny! Everyone is well. My in-laws live about 40 minutes away & they never lost power. Mrs. & baby Peafunk were able to get there last night so at least they didn't have to sleep in a cold house again. I'm still staying close to our house. There were a rash of burglaries a few towns away so I'm keeping our house on lockdown.

I got to take a warm shower today for the 1st time since Sunday. It was heavenly

Well I know that Brooke and I didn't have anywhere to go and it's been scary and we've been without power and showers and water etc. You can't get money from the ATMs and there's a 6pm curfew where I am. I'm hoping it lets up soon. I'm one of the few who got power (it's off and on) back on my street. Also lines for the pay phones are ridiculous..today i had to move apartments in the dark. Been a trying time, today I just sort of lost it.

I think Brooke checked into a hotel up in midtown because lower Manhattan is without anything. I know Headhunter is without power and running a bit short on food-they're hoping something opens up tomorrow. Long Island looks like a disaster zone. Glad everyone else around here is good? trish, eric, chode, ynwa, lil sis, etc

and yes, hope dodobird's okay, too...his folks had a house in breezy and i think he lived up near poughkeepsie or westchester?

Hang in there, Penny.

Happy to see so many posts from the folks were were affected by Sandy...you guys remain in our thoughts and prayers.  Hoping that power and clean running water gets restored as soon as possible!  Electricity and hot water are incredible mood lifters

Continue to be safe, y'all...

Stay safe, warm and fed.  I echo all the other positive thoughts.  Our prayers and good wishes are with all those affected by this shit of a storm.  I messaged one roll call friend in WV - sherryburyblast and she said it's been stressfull, but she is doing ok.

Ghosts_on_TV

Glad everyone is safe. My area is pretty much alright. A couple trees down and shingles from my roof in my yard.
Some girls mothers are bigger than others girls mothers...

CHIMMJFAN

Glad to hear back from those in the area! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected. Being from a family of many people employed in emergency rescue type jobs, I want to say a big thank you to all of those people working around the clock. Stay safe everyone!

good to hear everyone is safe...I have been really busy at work the past three nights because all the sick kids since it went from 80 degrees to 40 in a day, therefore i have been unable to really check the boards...glad to hear the thorn in the side of this board is gone as well...

having worked now and in the icu the night of the april 27th tornadoes my thoughts and prayers go out to all of those in the healthcare industry trying to manage this crisis...you have no idea what it's like when something like this happens...when you have a person on a ventilator and vasoactive drugs to keep their blood pressure from bottoming out and then the power as well as the generators go out...utter chaos...not to mention if you have to be evacuated...without power you have to manually bag a ventilated patient with your hand...just think about how tiring that could get because if you aren't bagging...they aren't breathing

thank you again to all of those that continuously checked on us last year during the tornado...i only hope our prayers for you guys have helped as much as yours did for us

Hey y'all...just saw this on another message forum. ConEd is issuing refunds for lost food:

http://www.coned.com/customercentral/lawclaims.asp

The information below does not apply to outages resulting from Hurricane Sandy.

If you have incurred spoilage losses during a power outage, you may file a claim with Con Edison. To file a claim, either fill out a claim form or write a letter within 30 days of the power outage.

Residential Customers:
You may file a claim, up to a maximum of $450, for actual losses of food spoiled due to lack of refrigeration.
Claims for food up to $200 must include an itemized list.

Claims for food over $200 must include an itemized list and proof of loss (for example:  cash register tapes, store or credit card receipts, cancelled checks, or photographs of spoiled items).

In addition, you may file a claim for actual losses of prescription medicine, spoiled due to lack of refrigeration.
You must include an itemized list and proof of loss (for example:  pharmacy prescription label or pharmacy receipt identifying the medicine).
We may also request authorization to enable Con Edison to verify the loss of prescription medicine.
Reimbursement for prescription medicine is not included in the $450 maximum for spoiled food.

Claims must be filed within 30 days of the date of the power outage.
Reimbursement is limited to food and medicine spoilage and is governed by Con Edison's electric rate schedule.
Losses for damage to motors, equipment, or appliances are not reimbursable under the electric rate schedule.

Not so lucky with LIPA

Will LIPA reimburse me for spoiled food?
LIPA is not liable for food spoilage or damage to customer property resulting from an act of nature, such as a major storm, which is beyond out immediate control.

Just some pics from my area:
