Why would you go on a band's forum, brag about how you got early access to their music, then trash it?  Even if you thought it was great, going on the forum and saying you have the music pre-release date is pretty lame, IMO.  You know they read this shit, right?

Because of a need for attention and to try to feel superior?

There is a guy on the Jayhawks forum who does this exact same thing.  He's been hanging around on that board for years, changes his screen name from time to time, but just won't go away.  Also won't show his face at shows and actually meet up with other forum members face to face.  Hmmmm, I wonder if this is the same guy...?

I was rereading an old thread from back when circuital came out. He was supportive of the band then and defended them. It's sad that he has moved from there to where he is now. I hope he finds peace.

I don't normally post about leaks but fvck this guy.  This album is very different.  I love it so far.  Do not let his posts affect your perception upon first listen.

Have a few beverages, sit back and enjoy it.  You will love it.

Preordered FYI
Sometimes when I get in my zone, you'd think I was stoned, but I never as they say, touched the stuf

The album is inspiring! I haven't been this excited since Z. Takes some listening to sink in, though. All Is Forgiven made me cry. Have the CD pre-ordered. Bless you Jim, you are a gem, this is great stuff.

What a nice surprise to come home on New Years Day, after rockin' into it with MMJ, and discover the new issue of Relix in my mailbox.  I love the CDs that come with each issue, tastes of established bands and newcomers alike.  Jim gets the first track of the first CD of the first issue of 2013... "Know Til Now".

some Jim James solo dates would ease the post-MMJ letdown.

It's probably NOT TRUE that Ray has gotten ahold of and listened to the new album.

It's all over the internet.

A.E.I.O.U

daylight come,
daylight go,
how far will it reach?
aint nobody know.
when the dawn breaks,
the craddle will fall.
and down will come baby,
craddle and all.

Now I know you need the dark,
Just as much as the sun,
but your signin on forever
when you aint get any blood
A.E.I.O.U, E.I.O.U. I is for state of the art.
technology,
suppose to make a better living
are we better human beings?
we gotta wise our course,
the tubes are all tied.
and I'm strainin to remember,
just what it means to be alive,
a life worth livin'
now you can feel it in your chest,
buildin like little birds,
just buildin up the nest.
and you build it up strong
and you fill it up with love
and you pray for good rain
all from the lord above.
A.E.I.O.U, e.I.O.U A.E.I, is for state of the art
technology,
now don't you forget it.
it aint used for me,
because when the fuse goes out,
I got me,
because the fuse goin out,
I think my powers goin out
I mean it, the powers goin out.
I really mean it, the powers goin out.

I just started reading this thread, and what the hell ray?!  If you want to take a bite of the forbidden fruit, that's your call but those of us who want to wait until it comes out don't want to see the lyrics!

On a lighter note, I cant wait to add this to my vinyl collection!

Turns out this issue of Relix not only comes with the CD above, but contains a healthy interview with Jim!  I only got a few pages in this morning.  Looks good.  Check it out.

Does anybody know if you purchase the vinyl do you get a mp3 download also?

lasvegas

after listening a couple of times i can say that i really dig the album.

Quote"The album knew what it wanted to be," says James. "The songs would tell me what they wanted to be, and I just had to search around and find those sounds to bring them into this world."

Great article, thanks so much for the scans! Jim just seems to be bursting with positivity about everything going on right now -- and it's damn contagious!

Thanks, John. What a good article!

thanks JY.  loved JJ's line about Bruce crowdsurfing.  too funny.

Don't you ever turn it off

Wow great article.   I love when the writer really really GETS it.    It's evident all over this piece.    This line is fantastic:

a unique and emotive singer, adventurous and uninhibited writer, and enchanting and electrifying performer.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.
