I teach US and World History, and was just playing Z for my students earlier this week... so it goes

Let me just say that  "Of the Mother Again > Actress" while outside in the snow and headphones on with the volume cranked is quite the feeling.

The album has swept me off my feet. And I am a teacher too.

I also do a show called Teacher On The Radio on WTTU, the college station where I work.

This coming Monday will be a Jimfest called 'Come Closer.'

I preordered this from Newbury with the autographed CD booklet!

Got it today and was a bit disappointed. The signature is faded like it was from a marker running dry and overall it's pretty sloppy. Doesn't look much like his other signatures. I get he signed a ton and probably breezed through this, but still, a little disappointed.

Anyone else receive theirs?

Sounds like you got a unique one!;)

Cause the marker's running out!

I mean it, the marker's, running out!

I really mean it, the marker's running out!

Yep.  I sort of know what you mean.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Got my copy, after two listens I find the album kinda different and very interesting. I can see a lot of Soul/R&B influence from the 60's and 70's, with a personal side of Jim with a very eclectic and spacey sound.

Some of the songs and the general atmosphere kinda reminded me some songs from "At Dawn" and "Tennessee". but with a fresh producing and a new sound to replace the acoustic guitars...Also thought about the start of "Steam Engine" on the first notes of "A New Life". Songs like War Begun, Butch Cassidy, I Think I'm Going To Hell & Hopefully also crossed my mind. Some songs on the album kinda continue their live performances today or feel like had some influence here. Just some thoughts after two times listen to it. Will continue with many more...

I don't think it's one of the best things with his name on it, but it sure is interesting and fresh and very personal stuff wrapped in a new vibe and sound. I think it's amazing how an artist you know so well can still surprise you with something new. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, that's similar to mine. I mean it was cheap and a cool thing to offer so I'm not complaining, I guess I was just hoping it was a litle bit better quality. The signature doesn't really "pop" at all.

I actually met the guys from wintersleep which was really cool and I came prepared bringing one of their albums and a silver sharpie. It looks amazing and it's certainly one of my favorite pieces of memorabilia. I'll still add this to the collection, but I just wish it was a little bit better.

Well said.

I liked this album when I first heard it, but I feel like some of the tracks are rather lackluster.  However, State of the Art and A New Life are amazing, and the overall sound of the album keeps me addicted.  I find myself listening to it at least once a day and I cannot wait to see it live.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

did anybody notice at like 2:39 on "God's Love" there appears to be something playing in reverse?

Yesterday, I received the limited edition Regions bundle as a gift. The autographed poster was shipped in a soft envelope, separately from the rest of the items. Upon receipt, the envelope containing the poster was bent diagonally through the middle, which transferred to the poster as well. I am a little disappointed ground(ctrl) didn't do a better job getting these items to us considering the bundle wasn't cheap, and there were only 500 of them.

"Dear One" is the only true slam dunk for me. I have already listened to that song countless times. While I like and even love other songs (OTMA), I have to be in the mood for them.

Every time I hear "Exploding", I think of this scene from Hard Day's Night:

Ringo's Theme, (This Boy)

But my son made the connection of "Exploding" to this other song, "Heaven and Hell" - the intro to Carl Sagan's The Cosmos:
