New Lightning Dust coming June 25th!!!    Just ordered deluxe package which comes with vinyl, CD, poster, bonus 7" and shipping for $29 total.   Now that's fair pricing!

can you send or post a sample? I'm not familiar but intrigued.

Amber Webber and Joshua Wells from the band Black Mountain.  It's like...electronic folk magic!   I'm in love with their second album, Infinite Light.   First one is great too.

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I'm finally really listening to Evil Friends. I think I may love it. I listened to it while I was busy with work when it first came out and then forgot about it. I started listening intently today to it and I really just love it. I think seeing Portugal.the man last week reminded me about it.

Futurebirds - Baba Yaga
Har Mar Superstar - Bye Bye 17
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires in the City

I've listened to more than this, but so far these are the only albums I've heard that I feel like I'll actually still be listening to years from now.
You need it.  That's for sure.

Never thought that I would say it about something DJ or electronic based, but the new Daft Punk is REALLY GOOD.

I thought the same thing. But there integration with rock, pop, and instrumentals it's really catchy. I'm loving it (and listening to the vinyl right now )

I'm pretty sure there is only one sample on the whole album.
Some girls mothers are bigger than others girls mothers...

Jeff Murray

I've been going back and forth between Jason Isbell's Southeastern and Joseph Arthur's Ballad Of Boogie Christ... Both great albums in my opinion.
Pretty please with peanut butter pudding surprise on top??

I like the new daft punk album but if I were Matt Mondanile I would look into some kind of copyright lawsuit...not sure how all that works and I know Daft Punk has been working on this album a long time but I can't get over how similar these songs are and how much $ is being made off of Get Lucky right now. Probably out of my element but just wanted to post this.

Also, Sax Solo > Pharrell

Get Lucky - Daft Punk Feat. Pharrell Williams

Ducktails - Under Cover
Here it is, in its entirety, our cover of ELO's Telephone Wire

Ob1jacobe

The National - Trouble Will Find Me
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires Of The City
Phosphorescent - Muchacho
Kurt Vile - Walkin On A Pretty Daze
Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse
Mikal Cronin - MCII
Local Natives - Hummingbird
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - II
Yo La Tengo - Fade
The Men - New Moon
Deerhunter - Momomania
Torres - Torres
Daughter - If You Leave
Lamb Lamb the Beekeeper - Riley Pine
Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt

- need to listen to Portugal the man, Savages, Queens of Stone Age, Shannon and The Clams and others some more.  Been a great year for music

Mahgeetah34

I just got that Magna Carta Holy Grail. It's a good cd and you can listen to it from beginning to end. The Rick Ross track might be the only skippable one. They made the original Maybach Music then have the nerve to put out that trash. "Oceans" and "Part II" are the best along with "Jay Z Blue." Definitely makes up for Blueprint 3.

JAGWAR MA- HOWLIN
CAYUCAS- BIG FOOT
FLAMING LIPS- THE TERROR
WILD NOTHING- EMPTY ESTATE
DUCKTAILS- THE FLOWER LANE

LBSUNFLWR

the new Gregory Alan Isakov album The Weatherman is just beautiful.

pawpaw

I haven't listened to much this year, haven't even heard a great rocker yet (recommendations?). I've really liked these though:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
"I'm able to sing because I'm able to fly, son. You heard me right..."

I listened to the stuff on NPR today- like it! She's getting so much buzz I heard she was the only artist already booked for the Newport FF next year.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I know I've mentioned these already, but on my trip last week I became really into the Jason Isbell and obsessed with P.tM - Evil Friends. Its as good as TSS or ITMITC, in my opinion.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

I'm still listening to Evil Friends myself. Sometimes I love an album from first listen, but then tire quickly of it. This album is not one of them. Other times An album is a grower; once again not this album.  I fell in love on first listen and it is right up there for me in my current rotation of regulars.

WASHED OUT- PARACOSM

yeah its great. Probably my album of the year. I love how the album is "kind of" a concept album and they use recurring lyrics and melodies
