Or at least meet him this time.

This is on MMJ's FB page as well as Dylan's.  Does this mean it is an actual moving festival where each band will be able to play long sets?! I NEED TO KNOW!

Because this could be the greatest damn thing

Ever.

I can't focus on this test I have to take online.  I really need answers.

Is that the same thing as this tour?  It is usually in September and in Nashville.  This is in July.

Hope this pans out, but count me as one who's out after MMJ if they're not headlining.  Never been a Dylan fan or Wilco for that matter.  Plus I can see the ticket situation being crazy given three different fan bases vying for tix.

Can we just make a rule that if you have info to stop being so coy about it and just come out with it?

Cameron

I used to love wilco but really tired of them over the last few years. I saw them on their last tour and was pretty bored for most of the show. Last time I saw dylan it was fucking terrible. I love dylan and listen to him all the time but it was awful. All that said I would not miss this tour if it comes close to me.

Agree. These aren't nuclear codes, it's a fucking rock tour.

Interesting...

Can't see Dylan opening for anyone, but can you really imagine having to sit through Dylan after MMJ? It'd be like chugging some OJ after brushing your teeth with some really awesome toothpaste.
I've yet to get through this thread but yeah, I agree.  been thinking the same thing all day.  And I LOVE Dylan.  But haven't seen him live for years.

How can MMJ open for Dylan?  I'd much rather see a 3 hour set with MMJ versus a 45min-1hr set with MMJ and then Dylan.  Dylan is great, but he is past his prime, and I do not understand why they're opening when they don't have to.  If the Wilco thing is true, same goes for them.  Unless the concert starts at 2pm and each band plays for 3 hours!  Either way, I still want to see these 3 bands, so I'll stop ranting.

Still holding out for a solo MMJ show in Louisville this year.

MMJ may be the greatest live band out there, but Dylan is an institution and a legend. The set's probably going to be shorter, the tickets more $ and the crowds less MMJ centric but it's an honor for them and it'll be a chance for more people to hear them----

And my friend saw Dylan last week and it was the best he's ever seen him ..so you never know.
You do never know.  Dylan is a chameleon.  He'll bring his A game for the MMJ crowd!!  :bath:

From reading through this thread I'm surprised that so few people seem to enjoy modern-day Dylan shows.  Sure his voice is fried, but he can still be very expressive with it in his way, his band us top notch, and it's freakin' Bob Dylan singing some of the greatest songs ever.

I'll admit that his shows aren't really designed for the casual fan, but if you are a hardcore Dylan fan and familiar with his music, his shows can be incredible.

That being said, I just saw Dylan this last week (for probably about the 30th time) and it was one of my least favorite shows.  Charlie Sexton is now gone from the band and I didn't like the lead guitarist that was brought in to replace him nearly as much.  Also, the show just seemed to lack some of the magic that Dylan performances can have.  I'm certainly willing to give him another shot, though, particularly with MMJ and Wilco as part of the deal.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

I think you just summed up how I, perhaps many of us, feel about Dylan. I'm not going to try to convince someone who doesn't get that it's BOB DYLAN that it's BOB DYLAN. And yet, at the same time, he is not always on top of his game anymore. I still respect him greatly.
