Hey roll call peeps, haven't been on for a while.  I feel that Dylan will most likely end every show, however, I also believe it will be with MMJ and Wilco joining him on stage.  I just can't imagine Bob ending the show without that.  I would hope that they would join him in some old tune like "Blowin in the wind" or something along those lines.  That being said, MMJ should close Nashville and Wilco should close Chicago, even though I do love MMJ more than Wilco and will be at the Chicago show at Toyota park.
I'm very much looking forward to this even though I was lucky enough to see Jim at the basement in Nashville with Carl opening up for him, then also seeing Jim in Milwaukee and Chicago..  He crushed it with his new music and I was surprised just how much the songs evolved from the basement show to the show in Chicago.
But I'm a missin' my MMJ and I need some music that touches my soul.  So I couldn't be happier knowing that I'll get to see them this summer.
I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but somedays I'm just so ridiculously happy when I listen to their music and it can change my mood and even my life.
I love you guys and I sincerely believe that you have as much fun playing for your fans as your fans have listening to and watching you guys!!!!!!

Amen to that! Are you going to the Peoria show as well? I can't think of a better reason to fly back to my home city than these two shows. I figured in for a penny, in for a pound so I'm going to both Peoria/Chicago with a fellow board member from Austin! I guess escaping Texas summer is a good reason to go to Chicago in July
Unfortunately I can only make the Chicago show.  College tuition takes a toll on our budget.  I'm hoping to tail gate in our conversion van.  It's older, but in awesome condition with 4 captain chairs.  I heard that there will be tail gating before the show?

I sadly understand all to well the horror of student loans. I went to Toyota Park years ago, and based on how the parking lot is, I would assume you could tailgate. That really isn't a bad idea as there really isn't much over there. I am down for some tailgating.
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

Jeff Tweedy sez:

WOUB: What can you tell me about the upcoming "Americanarama" tour, which starts next month and continues through August?

JT: Americanarama? Well it's a crazy tour with Bob Dylan and My Morning Jacket and--I'm not sure--but Richard Thompson is playing some dates, and so is Bob Weir. I think Beck is on one date, and it's something we're really exicted about. It's just going to be...well, I'm not even sure what it's going to be yet. We'll definitely play a set, and hopefully there will some interaction will happen between acts...some bonus music.

That is both exciting and surprising to me.  I hope it happens, in whatever combination they work out.

That is awesome news, very encouraging.  It sounds like they dont even know yet about who's headlining and closing out shows and the order in which they play and all that though.

Good news: Another Americanarama Festival show w/ Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket & Richard Thompson - RT Electric Trio has been added -- Duluth, MN on July 9th. Tickets go on sale this Friday June 7th at 10AM.

Just noticed the Columbus, OH show was cancelled.

"Arena spokeswoman Leslie Lane could not confirm if low ticket sales were a factor, although she cited the show "wasn't sold out by any means.""

Wonder if any other shows are in danger.  I noticed the Peoria show was only selling ticket number 3,090, wonder if I need to start planning a trip to Chicago.

I'm surprised with the lineup that the shows have sold so poorly. Maybe Wilco and MMJ could still be considered a cult type band but you would think with them and Dylan no worries. The Camden show hasn't sold that well either.

wonder what others shows could be in danger of being cancelled...

That same article said it was the only show being cancelled of the 28, so I'm holding out hope.  I noticed Columbus was an arena show, so maybe facility costs were too high to justify the low sales.  By comparison, I would guess they are getting the Peoria baseball field for next to nothing.

Also, I spoke a couple of weeks ago to a local record store owner and he had heard nothing about the Peoria show until I mentioned it.  This was a couple of weeks after tickets had gone on sale.  He was very frustrated that it had been promoted so poorly.

I almost chose Columbus as my free ticket show, glad I went with Cincinnati instead.

I also feel like some die hard wilco or mmj fans would pass this tour up because of the short sets.

I have to say the tour is very extensive playing almost every corner of the states.. not many bands can pull that off these days. wouldn't be surprised if a couple more shows are cancelled. The camden show is saved I think because of the cheap lawn tickets for the XPN festival goers next door.

I think that's it.   This show feels like less than the sum of it's parts.   I'd pay to see a 3 Hr wilco show or pay to see a 3 hr MMJ show.   But seeing 1.5 hrs of each seems less exciting.   And then factor in Dylan which feels like a negative more than a bonus (to me at least, don't flame me!).

Agreed. You can flame me, I don't care.

I'll be in Ohio over July 4th, so trying to figure out which of these shows is doable (Indiana, Cinci, etc)..
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

i think that the organizers are to blame for some of this by picking some awful venues. I also think that they left too much to speculation (who's headlining, will there be any collabs, how much stage time) and that is creating some uncertainty with people interested in going

I agree the venue for me is 10 mins away so I can't complain but it's notoriously the worst venue or not the worst venue but a really shitty area. I think if it's a joint tour they have to balnace that out with some more information for the customer about the show.

To go along with others' comments, I think its safe to say I'm a pretty big fan of MMJ (ya think?) and a growing fan of Wilco.  I've seen Bob Dylan about a dozen times, though its been awhile.  I've got a crack at two stops on this tour and haven't bought a ticket yet!

I think this tour is flawed in its design and implementation.  Adding a 4th act dilutes the experience one can expect from the 3 co(?)-headliners.  I don't know any of these venues except Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA.  It kinda sucks.  BoA Pavillion in Boston is covered, in case of rain.  There have to be some ballparks around.

If they can't get ME to jump on this tour, Columbus won't be the only plug pulled.  That said, I'm starting to think about Bridgeport as consolation for Newport...

I think the larger markets like the south jersey.philly, NYC and north east shows will be fine but the smaller market in the mid west may be in danger of losing some more shows soon.
