Best wishes and a speedier recovery, Mr. Yac. Hope to see you inundating us with more factoids about the best damn band from its biggest fan. Sending positive thoughts  back to Iowa city :)

Johnny, it's great to see you here posting again. Thinking about you buddy. You got this.

Thanks, everyone. Just left cardiac ICU for the second time. Had to go back due to pulmonary edema (lungs filled with fluid, couldn't breathe). Hoping to leave hospital by week's end, then 1-2 weeks inpatient rehab in Cedar Rapids, then...HOME!!!

Also getting optimistic feedback from docs and therapists that I can still make OBH! Won't be drinking (maybe a little) and might miss a few songs tending to a my ostemy bag (ugh), but Michele and I deserve this vacation and hanging with my MMJ brothers and sisters will provide another source of healing.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

from your lips to the ears of the one upstairs.   as long as you are healthy.  JY at OBH would be icing on the cake.

was some shakin' and some record playin'

It's really nice and quite a relief to read that good news.  Hopefully no more complications and you'll be home in about two weeks and then Mexico in about two months.  You deserve the vacation.  It will be amazing regardless if everyone there buys you drinks or you're not drinking at all.

I will personally buy every drink for YY during OBH.

I'll tell you what.... I'll buy the drinks for all three of you.  If/when MMJ does another three night run in Port Chester or Red Rocks, you can take care of those beverages.  I'm feeling generous so I might take care of meals at OBH too.

I already paid for everyones drinks, and I'm not even going. You will be responsible for tips, though.
Seriously, I'm thrilled John is progressing. He did some real cool stuff for me a few years back, and I really wanted to meet him in Mexico. Fundage issues prevented that.

johnnYYac

Thanks, guys. Warms my heart to have you fight over who will buy me free drinks.

Endoscopy this morning, in search of bleeding that set me back yesterday. Hoping they find and fix the source so I can get back on track with my recovery.

My latest look. The blue "headband" holds a dressing on a large pressure wound on the back of my head.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Looking good John! Great to see you posting. Hang in.

Might leave the hospital today for a 1-2 week stay at an inpatient rehab center, then...HOME!!!

My first time on in a long while and my first priority is to check on JYac.  To my amazement John is logged on and with hopeful new posts!  You look very determined, John, like you're definitely going to be on the rail next year with the rest of us when MMJ finally hits the road.  Can't wait.  Get better soon!

Jenfarr

Wow, I hadn't seen this...thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!

Left UI hospital today, after 6 weeks, 2 surgeries, 200+ units of blood, and your positive vibes to sustain me. Some of the ICU nurses called me "miracle man". The truth is that the miracle was the skilled care of my nurses and most of my doctors.

I am now at St. Luke's inpatient rehab facility in Cedar Rapids for 1-2 weeks. My broad goal is to get stronger and more able to take care of myself. My other goal is to prove to my wife and doctors that I am good to go for OBH. I'm kinda thinking I desesrve it, now more than ever...

Thanks again for your support during a scary and stressful ordeal. Part of what makes MMJ the best band is that they attract fans who are good, caring people. Love to you all!
