Really cool meeting so many of you this weekend. It was such a fantastic time and the band sounds perfect.

The Steam Jam was totally different from the jam after IWSYS.

Jim seemed to move around more in Tennessee but the stage was a lot bigger.

The tour should be spectacular.
If you don't know for yourself, how could you ever know for me....

They bust be really jamming the songs out so much longer to play that few songs over that length of time. I'm all for it.

Yeah, there were times when Jim just seemed to be going off the cuff....just him and the electric and some dark sounding jams.  The Steam Engine Light Show/Jam was the highlight for me....that and seeing the crowd so into it.  Awesome Show!!!
There's Still Time.........

The show felt short...am I wrong? Like two songs short...or just one epic Run Thru short.

The bad is clearly at a point where they have a crazy big catalog full of condensed pop songs, folk tributes, space jams and just flat out rockers. I really hope they don't play a lot of songs twice (unless it's the new album.) even though they didn't play OBH, nothing was lost. Same can be said if they dropped  Wordless or I'm Amazed every other day.
God damn those shaky knees.

There were several times during the show where Jim would walk over to Tom while they were playing and say something and Tom would either nod or shake his head no.  That definitely gave me the impression that they were shifting on the fly at times.  Not in a bad way.  Like I said before, they were on point.

I wouldn't mind at all if Wordless gets shelved for a few years. I would rather hear I'm Amazed than Wordless at this point. With that being said, WC seems to fit in nicely with the tone (on paper) of the first two sets. I've just personally had enough of it.

Here is "Bermuda Highway". I am still limited to my little Casio camera that can't handle loud sounds/songs, so I only recorded this soft song from last night's show. (I went ahead and let YouTube "fix" the problems with the picture being shaky and too dim. Hopefully the new version will look good enough.)

Awesome and thanks, Mr. White.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Here is the first of about five whole songs I got last night. More to come. Enjoy Tropics!
and god damn those shaky knees

Goldeneagle

Great tropics video.
I apologize.  While I'm not one of the prominent tall guys in the video
I was just to the center of them and At 6'5 I was shorter than them.
I heard some grumbling behind me and someone questioned my actual seat assignment.
Sucks, I get it.  But I tried to lay low and tried to limit my vertical jamming.  Imagine, feeling like you have to temper your groove!  That tall guy with the glasses was really cool though.  He was the dude.

Clarkwork

I have some really great videos and pictures from last night. Right in front of Carl. Jim walked over and gave us the finger touch during Wordless. He was awesome both nights. Shorter set but they are playing close to 2 and Half hours and the tickets were maybe $45 each, that's a tremendous value.    It was an amazing couple of nights.
If you don't know for yourself, how could you ever know for me....

I don't think we have any right to criticize the set lengths. They may not all be three plus hours,  but I've seen only two shows of this band where I thought they phoned it in that night. It's rare for me to see a band that is this consistent and moves me so much every time I see them. If y'all want to get bugged out about how long the sets are,  that's your business. However,  the set times don't bother me at all. I was wiped out after both shows.

^ what he said....i dragged my wife out for drinks after knoxville just to collect my bearings after the show...i need that victory beer (or 3)..."hope to pop the victory top after the days work is done"
"Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul."

gardenparty

Anything over 1:30 by a headliner is a gift. They've been treating us well for years.  Can't wait to hear these shows

The amount of people bitching about no OBH on the way out of the theater was unreal.

Here I thought you mean OBH in Mexico. Ole!

Stevie

You had to assume that set times would be a little shorter given "the back," but the good news is that they are better than ever.  So we got that goin' for us.

TheKnoxvilleBear

I have a pretty profound hearing loss and wear hearing aids and wasn't able to pick up everything Jim said to the audience. I remember something about the sunsphere and more, but it was pretty hard for me to hear it all. Any remember what all he said?

He said he thinks about Knoxville about six or seven times a day. Then after he got laughs,  he explained that he bought a set of glasses that commemorated the world's fair and every time he gets something to drink he thinks about Knoxville. (Paraphrase)

They are busting out the jams on the new songs with a serious force. Compound Fracture and Memories and Tropics, especially. It's awesome and I am totally on board, fantastic stuff.
