Allison said that in order for my account to access presales, my account had to be reset.

...Allison may be in some hot water for being honest about the situation.  She's not helping the cover up process.

lip-service.  The fact remains that many long-standing roll call members were completely locked out of the on-sale.  This is not new, this seems to happen every time tickets go on sale.  And this is NOT a browser issue, it's a roll call fail.
If you were shut out due to the small allotment (typically 10% of venue), that's one thing. That is controlled by the venues, NOT by the band.

However, many people had issues with PayPal and WU *did not* make it clear that there were other payment options. I personally got hung up with PayPal and lost four front row Fox Theater tickets because PayPal would not go through, and it was not obvious there were other choices until I found WU's phone number; I was on hold so long that the tickets timed out.

I'm still not sure why there wasn't a 3-day GA Pit option available for Chicago, either.

It's always completely frustrating dealing with GC/WU and it doesn't have to be this way. Hell, the band itself posted on FB and tweeted that a code was necessary, so I know of some Roll Callers who didn't even access presale thinking they needed a code.

Very annoyed. This will be my last renewal on RC. We pay for a service that is often not delivered.

Yea, haha. How terrible of someone to be honest. I can at least appreciate the honesty.

Telling us "browser issues" is silly. That's the "go to" response for technical website issues for tons of companies. When my new health insurance site had a broken page they told someone I work with it was the wrong browser (it wasn't). When we had issues with UPS shipping calculators at my job one of our team members was told it was a browser issue (it wasn't). It's not until the people on the other end of the phone would speak to someone who knows about different browsers and tested it already that they would begin to take the issue seriously and have to admit they're not sure what the problem was.

Basically, claiming it was a browser issue to people who tested multiple browsers is pretty damn annoying. Especially when it happened to a variety of people who likely weren't using the same browser.

Quote from: Wonderful Union on Mar 09, 2015, 02:15 PMBrowser/computer related issues are more common than you might think. The majority of technical difficulties on our sites are browser related. We're sorry to hear that you were unable to obtain tickets during today's fan club pre sale. Tickets were available in a very limited quantity today but there will be another chance to purchase tickets during the general on sale.
My issue with Fox Theater tickets was *not* browser-related. You, WU, had the sale page set up so that it was impossible to know there were payment options other than PayPal. After being on hold with WU for who knows how long, only to be told I could change the payment option in the header, my tickets timed out after not being able to gain access to PayPal.

How was anyone to know there were other options for payment when your screen showed ONE GREEN PAYPAL BUTTON?!

Hi All,

Please keep in mind that the shipping costs include the end-of-year 7-inch shipping as well as the cost to ship the t-shirt, poster, and laminate. Two separate shipments.

Best,
Alison

Sorry but the shipping costs are WAY out of line.

Thank you, but this doesn't address why your presale screen only shows the PayPal option. It's somewhat misleading and very confusing. On every other merchant site where payment is required, you have the ability to select your payment options.

I think we all understand this.  There was a limited amount of tickets available in the pre-sale.  This is not the issue, this is common.  RC members not being able to login and try is the (currrent) issue.  Along with mixed messages about codes etc.  This is just the latest in a long series of failures by this company.  The company that the band pays to run this side of the operation.  Team MMJ knows this is a longstanding issue.  They have made the choice to continue the relationship with GC/WU.  That is on them, despite the hardship and frustration it causes the fan-base.

^^^ I have been buying tickets to shows for over 30 years and never have I had to purchase tix via Paypal (obvs).  Why on earth would I proactively check the FAQ page re changing billing information? That seems totally crazy to expect someone would have looked there.  And I wasn't even in this morning's debacle except for RR.

There is definitely some confusion about allotment; perhaps not here on the forum, but I've seen multiple posts about people thinking shows are sold out (as opposed to just a presale sellout).

I do not disagree with the frustrations. I have been a RC member since the beginning and have had a number of problems with them, including being nearly shut out of Port Chester when they couldn't locate my tickets, despite confirmation in hand.

And vespachick, I agree. If I make purchases elsewhere, I have the option to select my payment method and it is *obvious* that there are other options.

I had the EXACT thing happen for Birmingham tickets.  Front row and only had a paypal option.  Then, paypal froze which I had never had happen.  I mean, I was seeing PayPal screens that I didn't know existed.  Of course, as I tried to resolve the issue my tickets timed out and I lost them.

FORTUNATELY, I kept trying and about 10 minutes later, I think I got the exact same tickets.  I understand everyone will not be totally happy with the process but you should not have to read a FAQ to figure out there are payment options other than paypal.

Overall, I have been very pleased with Roll Call and consider it worth every penny.  After all, I got four front row tickets to Birmingham, four front row balcony tickets to Fri night in Atlanta, and four 6th row balcony ticket to Sat in Atlanta.  But it's clear that there are still a few bugs that need to be work out.

I didn't see a Green Paypal Button.  I clicked on a Green Submit order button.  Then next thing I knew I had a confirmation number without having entered a credit card number or anything.  No Paypal at all.   I have no idea what credit card WU charged.  I guess I have one saved in my Roll Call account and that luckily that card isn't expired because I got a confirmation email.

To my knowledge, there is no way to see what credit card was used or how to update the credit card information on file.   I clicked all around the dashboard and the Billing/Shipping button.   I sent WU an email and hope to hear back.

I had a lime green Paypal button. There was an option to change billing info in the header, but it wasn't obvious. This is exactly the kind of crap I am talking about. Why on earth should we be expected to remember what prior billing info we used when we only have to purchase via RC once or twice a year?

Poor communication. WU should have included a reminder to check billing information prior to the presale. We all obviously got different screens and had different experiences.

That really tends to be the root of all the issues, IMO. At least all of the issues that I've had with this fan club.

All i have that makes me think i have tickets is a receipt from PayPal that my transaction went thru.  No email from MMJ or WU.  No indication as to what I paid them for, a confirmation # etc. Should i be worried?  I should prolly be worried...

ellisintransit

Like APR I also did not see any paypal option.  There was one button to press, and it was my stored card info that ground_(ctrl) had, presumably from the last Roll Call re-up or from the Deluxe Waterfall pre-order.

Bernard, my confirmation email came from noreply@mmj.groundctrl.net.  You might want to give ground_(ctrl) a holler to make sure.

Wow...sorry, you are getting double whammy'd by me today ;)

A friend just told me something similar happened to her, except it withdrew money from an old checking account she didn't realize was still set up. Fortunately, there was enough in there to cover her tickets.

Sorry to any and all who had difficulties with the presale. It was a frustrating and disappointing morning.

Crayton09

The payment option when checking out was very confusing and makes me wonder who designs these sites. When I checked out for Red Rocks tickets I was only given the option of using PayPal which luckily worked fine for me, but my buddy who was over at my place also trying to get tickets was only given the option to use a credit card that he didn't even recognize and wouldn't work when he tried to check out. He was about to call Wonderful Union, but I started messing around and found that if you clicked up at the top of the page on "Billing" where it shows which step of the ordering process you're on, it would let you change the payment option and he was able to put in a valid card number. Very stressful. Also there's no way to change you're payment method or your card on file when signed into your account, you have to be right in the middle of purchasing tickets and even then it's not straightforward or intuitive.
