Going to both shows and wish I had read this thread before buying tics. I bought for balcony bc I'm short and always get blocked by people on the floor. Are the balcony seats really that bad? If you bought balcony, can you still go down to the floor? This will be my first time in Austin. After seeing the 2nd Chicago show I knew I needed to see them again this tour. Have been wanting to get to Austin for a while now (hubby's Uncle lives here) so it seemed like a perfect fit.

The balcony "seats" are mainly GA bleachers.  You have to get there early to get as close to the railing as possible to see well unless you're 6' +. You cannot go back and forth from the balcony to the floor The sound quality at the venue isn't ideal compared to other venues in town (The Moody Theater or Bass Concert Hall) but the last few bands I've seen @ AMH sounded great, Jack White, My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies, Soundgarden...like any show you have to orient yourself based on the volume level you can handle vs how well you need to see.  This venue just doesn't have the caveat of not having a bad spot in the place, unlike The Moody.

Looks like these will be some of the last shows there. They're tearing it down at the end of the year.

Even with all the bad reviews, the fact that these will be among the last batch of shows here has me tempted. Let these fiery shows burn the place down!!

This article makes it sound like it could be demolished before October.  Kinda hoping the shows get moved to the Moody or someplace cooler!
