living in nyc, with a child, i havent been able to see them since the beacon.  i had zero problems with the setlist, and actually liked it.  but i also tempered my expectations being a one off show.

the playing, the vibe, the weather! all on point..

how did people get out of there? i actually used pt2/obh to get out of there and grab an uber, but im wondering the deal if you wait til the end- train/subway easy enough coming out to get into manhattan?

We took the LIRR out of NY Penn. Real easy trip out, 1st stop, maybe 20 minutes if that. For future reference though, make sure you're in the 1st 4 cars going there because the FH platform isn't that long and those are the only cars you can get off of at FH. The rest of the train the doors don't open at FH.

Coming back we did the same thing. We stayed for the whole show, hung around inside a little bit after, then walked to the train. Took our tickets on the sidewalk and then we just walked up to the train. I don't know if there was another train before ours and  while the line was a bit long, it wasn't a crazy long wait to get up to the platform.

Definitely would go there again, and most likely the same way.

let's talk about the stage crasher and Jim's tech issues....

Didn't notice the issues with his tech until you told us about it but definitely saw the stage crasher and Jim just kind of staring him down like really dude? It takes all kinds I guess.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone crash their stage in all the years I've been seeing them.

Man this forum got spoiled.
Was the set standard? Sure, but it was flawless. Jims singing might have been the best I've heard from him in the 15 or so shows I've seen them play.

Enjoy this band while you can, if you're getting bored with them take a break. To criticize that show last night is absurd.

Couldn't agree more. I'd love to see the deep cuts like everyone else but I feel so fortunate to see these guys every single time. I don't care what they play because it's all f-ing incredible. My opinion is stop having expectations about shows (IMO, it comes off as selfish and unreasonable) and simply enjoy the greatest band on earth. Who knows how much longer we'll have these amazing shows.

Oh, the ol' debate between the "its all good this band can do no wrong" people and the "no repeats because they can do it" crowd.  I see and agree that we should cherish every show because it ain't gonna last forever.  I also agree that when the band is playing killer it matters far less to me what they play. I also would like to see setlist variety on a more regular basis, but I usually don't expect that too much unless they are doing a multi-night run in one venue.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with wanting your fave band to be as awesome as they can and do what they are clearly capable of and have done many many times (albeit in the multi-night runs in theaters like the Cap, Wiltern, etc).  Those clamoring for setlist variety, I hear ya and I say feel free to speak your mind.

Show just got added to Relisten app.

As for the setlist talk. It is so completely different when you read the setlist, and when you are there. Sure, I would be lying if I didn't go in thinking, I hope they play this or play that. But once they plug in, I honestly don't care what songs they play. I am in a complete trance and taken to an unworldly place. I have seen them over 20 something times, and I can say I have never left bummed that they didn't play something. Of course there are songs I would LOVE to hear, and songs I am eh about, but in the moment it truly doesn't matter. We have come to know that the only times they are not gonna play repeats, are the multiple night runs.

I may be alone, but to me, I am just happy to witness this great band play live in front of me, no matter what songs they play.
The only song I hate when they play, is OBH.... cause then in my head... I know the night is over.

Ditto to this. I too have never walked away less than amazed. I actually like still having a few songs out there I've never seen live. (The thrill of the hunt)

As for OBH, I say the same thing, when it comes on it's a bit sad because you know it's about over. The Shelburne set was really cool because they ended the main set with it and the encore was anybody's guess what the last song would be.

First off, the show was incredible and we are spoiled as a fan base.  But just to echo what a few were saying, yeah with it billed as "only NYC appearance" I was hoping for a few deeper cuts, or a different cover. After seeing them in VT Wed, I didn't expect so many repeats. Even when they play single nights somewhere they seem to mix it up more stop to stop, like someone laid out above.

Still, enjoyed the show, venue was cool. Tough drive from mid NJ. Parking was too bad, $20 about a ten minute walk, and leaving we didn't hit traffic.

And yes JJ said 3 words all night "Thank you, Goodnight!" I like it. Letting the music speak for itself

thank you Shug! I have respect for both sides, I'm the guy who loves those Come Closers and How Do You How Could You Knows Chills etc and I gotta have em sometimes, and it's sad when they don't bust even one rarity out. Just One Thing and Picture of You were the only ones this entire tour, Xmas Curtain was played once as well. Other than that, it's been a referendum on the same messages and same songs.

I think this band can do no wrong, and I absolutely DO NOT or WILL NOT EVER take them for granted. It's just a plea to the guys to break those out and sometimes lately I'm left wondering why they dont...they just don't like those songs? they're not feeling them? I don't understand that considering they have so many gorgeous and perfect songs. But I get that, they're humans too, not jukeboxes.

It goes both ways, but let's just hope somewhere down the middle we can all agree that those songs need to be played more lately.

But we can always agree this band is the greatest fucking band of all fucking time

ALSO....stage crasher?!?!? who's got footage of this?? I swear this never happens to them.

Exactly Lonndown. I too would love to hear exactly those 3 or 4 songs you just mentioned: Come Closer, Chills, and How Do You Know and/How Could I Know

Oh and throw in:

Sooner
If All Else Fails
Throwback
Thin Line
El La Ceremony
Grab a Body with that outtro from IWSYS
Hell
Strangulation
and maybe see what they can do with Magic Bullet live!

and I'm good, the ultimate show for me! Of course that's a lot to aks (that's right...aks) and I would never expect to see/hear more than two of those, but one can dream.

I don't know, I feel like this tour, being so damn short, was viewed by the boys in the band as sort of a quick workout, a summer fling, if you will--then back to making more new music (as mmj and their various side projects, hopefully just jacket though with new album out early next year). Just my 2 cents as a long time fan and lurker of this fine forum.

I forgot to mention that 5 songs don't have live action videos to go with them. The 5 songs are included, but they have still photos from the show that I found in the Interweb. The 5 songs without live video are: "Lay Low", "Tropics", "Compound Fracture" "Evil Urges", and "Run Thru  (end of)". The sound is still killer though!

Here's an updated version of this whole show. Eric Nelson noticed some of his videos were included in the collection and decided to share one more with me. He sent me "Compound Fracture" which leaves only 4 other songs without live footage (photo slideshow instead). Hope you all enjoy and share with others. Thanks for all the complements too!

fuck yes!!!! this thing will probably get one or two more videos in the next month or so, but even if this is the complete version, it's already 5 stars outta 5 and perfect in my opinion. I love the atmosphere and the fan shots and the crowd footage, it's edited beautifully Mr. White. You did a goddamn beautiful job. It's the only thing making me smile right now on this really fucked up day today. Thank you my good sir!

Hey Lonndown27, I've been working on another show with the radio broadcast thing the past couple of days (Chicago Theatre - June 11, 2015 - WXRT FM). There are only 19 songs from the original 22 performed that night that actually made it onto the broadcast/tape of the show. Only 10 of those 19 FM quality songs exist on YouTube (I've already synced up and saved all 10 live videos). Should I go ahead and work this up as half a concert or try to build slideshows of pictures for the other 9 songs? Let me know what you think. I'm sort of leaning toward building just the 10 song thing but maybe adding in a couple of the rare songs that land either before or after the songs I've got video to. We'll see.

woah shit I didn't see this! sorry Mr. White I Say GO FOR IT!!!! the more collected Jacket footage we have the more we can spread hahah and by the way, YOUR NEW VIDEO WAS THE FIRST THING that popped up on my Youtube dood! DarkStarFlashes Baby!!!!!!! It looks GORGEOUS!!!! You have footage of my favorite Lay Low EVER!!!

Mr. White you've done it again!

PLUS....Did you know YOU are famous now?? Of course shit I didn't see that you already posted that

I salute you Mr. White,      don't you love how they call you an "INTREPID" fan?? I think that's the coolest thing ever. Mr. White aka Mr. Intrepid you're a saint, the Chicago show is one of my favorites, sad they cut out Where To Begin and a few others though, like you said 19 were aired of 22. I think what you've done already is absolutely a gas!!!!! It's up to you if you wanna expand it, I'm however perfectly fine with what you've created, it's beautiful and stunning frankly. The footage is so crisp put together and the editing is really badass.

I was geeking the fuck out on the Facebook Fan Club page the day FOREST THRILLZ (the name I've given your multi-cam FM video ) dropped, I really appreciate all the hard work and know how hard and time consuming putting those together can be. You and Pat Myers are keeping the flame going! The more people can see the Jacket in these settings, the more fans they'll have, simply. I've shared that FOREST THRILLZ video with a bunch of new fans and their minds have been blown, Mr. White....that's a huge deal to me man...your work is directly responsible for bringing in new fans and not to mention catching Jambase's eye too!!! And they know what they're talking about when it comes to cool goings-on in music.

THANK YOU MR. WHITE AND ALL THE FILMERS!! I'm actually humbled you asked for my opinion on the Chicago show Mr. White, thank you dood, I really do respect what you guys do. Thank U for getting a Jacket Obsessive EVEN MORE obsessed

Nice job Mr. White!  I'm re-living the show right now with your video.  It reminds me of the Beastie Boys dvd "Awesome I Shot That" when they gave out a bunch of camcorders to fans at MSG and compiled all the footage together.
