Does anyone know of hotels around Broomfield that offer shuttles to and from the venue? I know uber/lyft is always an option, I'm just thinking for NYE specifically it might be tough to get one after.

The Doubletree (a Hilton property) in Westminster does. It's 5 miles from the venue.

There ya go. Stay positive, proactive, and it'll happen.

We've all been there and know it's not easy but I assure you, it'll be worth it. You'll remember these shows forever and be so glad you did what it took to get there.

Heading to Boulder on Tuesday for the week with the GF.

We have Avery, Twisted Pine, Sanitas and Boulder Beer Co. on the list.

Any other cant miss stops?

Cheers!

Have a soft spot for those you listed other then Sanitas, they were all there when i first moved to Boulder in 2002 and started drinking craft beer.  Sanitas, have not been, but on my list.  Boulder Beer has two locations, one close to Pearl St, which is pretty new and the original location, which is a strange area, but pretty cool place, they used to do a lot of local live music.  Good bar food.

Mountain Sun, they do great food too.  On Pearl St.  Hippy vibe.  Great mix of beers.  They also have the Southern Sun, in south Boulder.  And for those in Denver, Vine St Pub.

Upslope, the location on Flat Iron Ct.  Cool place, i have not been to the original location, which is way up in north boulder.

Then if you have time, head to Longmont.  Left Hand brewery, nice tap house and tour.  Oskar Blues also has a nice restaurant, right next door to its production facility, which also has a tap room.  Have not been to Longmont in a few years, but all the sudden they got a bunch of breweries, i have not been too yet or tasted, so cannot say for sure.  Others might have input?

On the way to venue, hit up Odd 13.  Its not too far out of the way.  Real good place.  Cheers!

Thank you, I'll look into the Double Tree

I'm seeing some pretty awful reviews on the venue that have me a bit spooked logistics-wise. Seems a lot are stemming from brutal waits to get in (and out) of the venue. Has anyone been to a show here recently and can confirm they've maybe improved and it's not a total clusterfuck?!

Not worries about it at all. I can't imagine getting in will be difficult unless you get there right before show time. If the reviews said the sound if awful then I would be a bit more concerned.

I've attended about 15 shows at first bank. If you do not have a sober driver it can be a huge pain especially on Holiday shows. To my knowledge there is not a designated cab line like at other venues and if there is it doesn't work well and you have to be fast, it's somewhat up in the middle of nowhere in comparison to downtown.
That's the bad news but if you are willing to split an upsurge Uber or organize a limo etc.. it's not THAT bad, I have friends that get a suite every show though and the VIP parking and separate VIP entrance make it worth the extra money every time. If you have a designated driver they can park within a hundred yards of the entrance with VIP and will be the easiest in/out at a show you have ever had, so it can be both a mess and super easy
There are plenty of suite tickets available to my knowledge too if anyone is interested just let me know and I can put you in touch, They are $280 for the 3 night pass and well worth the extra $20/night. Lots of perks to doing VIP suites at that venue

Oh, we're ready. No question about that!

I'd have to think on the rest but I'm dying for another OBH opener and never got a Steam opener so those would be my top choices. Also always love At Dawn and The Dark whenever I've gotten those to open.

While I'd love any of those, I'd be happy with just about any opener that's not a standard opening tune we seen many times. Give me a surprise opener like we got for the Spontaneous Curation shows  and I'm good.

OBH as a closer is fun, but I agree, ericm. I'd love to see OBH early in the set on the 29th to set the tone for the weekend. Full Run Thru to close the set and Carried Away somewhere in the encore! The 29th will be a great night for some Tennessee Fire and At Dawn gems as well.
