I missed the Thursday listening party but waited all day friday until after work to throw on the video and watched/listened, initial reaction was goosebumps and loved it.

Seen a couple people say they don't care for Climbin the Ladder, i can see that as it seems a little hokey/comical almost, but i think that's the genius of the song, it's obviously about Jim's climbin the career ladder in music industry, but it starts out with that pedal steel guitar and an overly country riff that i feel is a throwback/homage to their southern country rock roots. Also love the tempo change in the middle of Jim getting tired of climbing, then it picks back up again, it's a pretty genius song in my opinion.

Run It - has been what i keep singing in my head and going back to, definitely feel the Grateful Dead vibes, i love this song, possibly my #1 on the album

Wasted - obviously a monster, might be the best jam they've ever recorded on a STUDIO record right? up there with OBH and Mageetah and Dancefloors
I like your take on Ladder and I agree it's a great song.  The tempo change is awesome and I love the guitar closing out the song.  It's impossible not to like this.

when i first heard the album, Climbing The Ladder and Still Thinking weren't that high on my list, but after several plays this weekend, I'm a fan of each of them as well. I think being sandwiched b/t Spinning My Wheels (what a great opening track) and Feel You is tough. The tempo changes, the "Jacket" flourishes make them homages and not rip offs of the genres they clearly pull from.
Don't you ever turn it off

The end of Still Thinkin is my favorite part of the whole album. Might be my favorite track altogether.

I really enjoy every single song.

After a few more listens, I am really appreciating the vibe of the whole album.  Each song is so different, yet the album seems like cohesive art.  I love it.  I don't love every song, but the whole thing just feels great.

So many of the above posts are thoughts that I've had.  I love this forum and conversation.

I can officially say that Wasted and Feel You are now in my top tier MMJ all time favorite songs.  To hear those live is a dream.

Run It is getting a lot of love - probably especially among Dead fans.

What a way to close the album..... I can listen to "I wonder where the time went" with those guitars for hours.

Wasted
Feel ya
Spinning my Wheels
Welcome Home
Still Thinkin
Run It
Magic Bullet
Climbing the Ladder
Beautiful love
The First Time
I'd go:

Feel You
Wasted
The First Time
Run It
Magic Bullet
Welcome Home
Spinning My Wheels
Still Thinkin
Climbing the Ladder
Beautiful Love (Wasn't Enough)

Overall I'm in love with this album and I have it on constantly.  Too early to rank among their other albums, but i have a feeling I'll slot it pretty high.

"Beautiful Love (Wasn't Enough)" i find to be the weakest track, but many listens in and it's certainly not a bad track.  "Climbing the Ladder" and "Still Thinkin" i love, just not quite as much love as the other tracks.  They also don't seem to flow very well in the album and stick out like sore thumbs.  As much as i love the poppy beach boys/beatles vibes/nod to "Still Thinkin", it's the end of that track that i LOVE.

"Feel You" and "Wasted" are easy stand-outs from the new tracks and i think rival the best MMJ has to offer. I cannot wait to hear these things live and see how they evolve over time.

"The First Time" and "Run It" seem mixed with fans, but i also love these a LOT.  The First Time is an excellent closer for this album, i get so lost in "Oh i wondered where the time went..." and i find it stuck in my head long after the album finishes.  Run It's "get back to water" and overall groove just really hooks me in.

"Spinning My Wheels" I've heard mixed with fans as well, but i think it's a great opener and i really dig the chorus.  Lots of little subtle instrumentation and build-up in this one I've dug into more on repeat listens.

Lastly the previously released tracks of "Magic Bullet" and "Welcome Home" i think are fantastic, not much else to say.  GET OUT OF HERE COVID, WE NEED TO HEAR THIS THING LIVE, STAT!

NICE!!!

Yup! Totally sounds like a Steam Engine jam, that was my first thought. I theorize that many songs are born out of Dantes and Steams.

this really could have been a great double album if they had went for it

ChiefOKONO

Yes.. but now a least we have both and we can make our own playlists :)

I feel like after listening to the album over the weekend, it's become even greater than I first thought. I appreciate all the songs and think MMJ is headed in a new direction that we all are ready to follow. I feel like each of the songs keep shuffling in my head and a different one is my favorite every day.

Also, cheers to hoping they didn't F*** up the Spotify presale because I wanted the Danny Clinch photo as well and didn't get confirmation.

Four days, about 15 plays. Will be lots more before the vinyl arrives. As has been said many times here, amazing something this good was on a shelf for five years.

For those interested, Vinyl Me Please still has the limited edition and numbered orange sunburst vinyl up for sale, no membership required.

I'm thinking that all of the Spotify presale albums got the Danny Clinch photo...don't recall seeing them increase the number of that version & it wasn't offered without the photo.

When I ordered mine it was crossed out but apparently later in the day it was showing as available again...I'm really hoping to get one.

Well, Well, Well.  Feels Like The First Time Indeed!!!  Sometimes an album just hits you at the right time in your life.  WII has also awoken a new appreciation for Waterfall I and Jims solo stuff.  I think I just wasn't ready for some of the output recently or past decade or whatever...I'm feeling much better these days :).  Thank you Jim and gang for being there for us to lean on through this journey.  You guys are so inspiring and lovely.
