i think dark side of the moon would be pretty sweet.

Chills

Pretty obvious but right now I'd say Zuma!
Either that or Nashville Skyline.

megisnotreal

harvest moon would be nice. or maybe the white album.

maybe they'd be down with please hammer, don't hurt 'em?  ;D

Angry Ewok

Harvest Moon. Good answer. If nothing else, I'll take a cover of One Of These Days, Harvest Moon, and You and Me. But I'm more of a Harvest guy, sans that lameass Alabama song. Just give me Harvest and The Needle And The Damage Done, maybe Old Man, too. Neil Young and Jim James.

Any Beatles album would be incredible - namely because they're already incredible or even perfect to begin with. It takes a special band for me to ever want a Beatles cover.... MMJ doing Abbey Road, including a mock of the cover, would rock my balls off.

How about George Harrison covers? Cloud 09 is a guilty pleasure of mine, against the obvious answer of All Things Must Pass.

Okay, I've come up with one...

Jimi Hendrix's Are You Experienced?

Purple Haze
Hey Joe
Love Or Confusion
I Don't Live Today
The Wind Cries Mary
Fire
Third Stone From The Sun
Foxy Lady
Are You Experienced?
Stone Free
Highway Chile
Red House

So many classics on that album, obviously a demanding guitar-based album.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Wow, Disc 2 is a good call.   That is my favorite Zeppelin disc by a long shot.

I can hear Jim on "In the Light" and "ten years gone" now.  And the band would rock it!

I can't come up with anything that tops that...  but I wonder how they would sound with Radiohead's "The Bends".  After all, it is a rock album.

So many choices...

I'll narrow it down to four.

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
At The Drive-In - Relationship of Command
Foo Fighters - The Colour and The Shape
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

dragonboy

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Nikkogino

Ziggy Stardust

I have always though, if MMJ didn't write their own songs, they would be the best cover band ever.  Case in point:  Prince's "I Cound Never Take the Place of Your Man"...not to mention the covers played at the NY new year's shows and the Athens shows.

DaFunkyPrecedent

The Harder They Come - Soundtrack

                       or

Songs in the Key of Life - Stevie Wonder.

NOT FOO FIGHTERS!
God damn those shaky knees.

I always thought "down by the seaside" would sound really cool if they covered it. The Wanton song too would be amazing.

But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

Hawkeye

We could.

thebigbang

Ziggy Stardust

This would be a good choice.  The songs are a wonder, but sonically, I think the Jacket could blow them way up and crunchy-crunch those already jammin' parts.

Hang on to Yourself and Suffragette City would probably destroy the circuitry of inferior players.
Just a Heartbreakin' Man, doing a Victory Dance with Shaky Knees, along a Bermuda Highway

LEATHER KID

How about "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" by Neil and Crazy Horse.  I could see some badass dueling solos with Jim and Carl on Cinnamon Girl and Down by the River........  I'm not so sure Bo would be real keen on those Pantera "keyboard" solos.
IT'S ALL FUCKIN' CHEESE!!
