Are people really questioning the quality of MTV's taste?  Really?  The channel that helped make Kid Rock popular?  The channel responsible for Heidi Montag thinking she is worth anyone's damn?

Alternatively, the biggest consumer of disposable media are tweens spending daddy's money.

I don't mean to offend any aging boomers/hippies in the forum by my FZ link, usually I ruffle feathers with that unintentionally.

zappa was such a bad ass, I love listening to him talk about music.
I love this vid:

I wish we had more voices like that out there today.

If there were ever a celebrity who should have run for office, it was Zappa. I love that Crossfire video because he just tears into Novak and the other guy

QuoteI don't really care what MTV says since they haven't been relevant in years, but these days may be upon us already...

Quotethe last thing we need is having tweens show up simply because Jim is cute

Really? Say it ain't so! I'm all about tweens grooving to good music, but I'll never forget when I saw Incubus and Deftones in the 90s and a mom kept bringing security over every time someone lit a cig, did a little dance, or really just bumped into her. Plus all the gauged ears and tattoos really offended her suburban sensitivities. They basically stayed until Incubus played "drive" and left.

Oh, I think there's a certain OMGILOVEYOUJIIIIIIIIIM contingent at the shows these days that I hadn't noticed before.  No more annoying than the drunken frat boy contingent, though.

I am totally okay with people loving Jim -- so long as they shut up about it.
