Cat Power has 3 albums of covers. THey could get them if they wanted to, I'm sure.

What would lead you to that conclusion?  Sure, the rest of the description is pretty fanciful, but "Live in Las Vegas" seems pretty straightforward.

So does "Live at the startime Pavillion, Braintree Mass.", but thats not where acoustic citsuoca was recorded. That however is live. I don't know what I'm talking about, other than to expect the unexpected when it comes to this band.

but. i could TOTALLY see jim james omnichord version of keith sweats "nobody" being on this. He played it with that one chick (help?) at the rudyard kupling benefit. excellent.  I am utterly in love with the idea of jim james singing with a chick...        theres a version of golden where kathleen ____ sings with him.... BEAUTIFUL. Rudyard Kupling benefit........ louisianna women, grevious angel......          WOW.........    Islands in the stream....        your all i need........      TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE. When jim james sings with a female.... it is simply sex. If he sings with a female on any of these songs on this LP, i sperm.

;D The image of Patrick's smiling face always makes me happy. He seems like such a sweetheart, except I don't like their social experiment they have going on here.

My guess is that this is definitely Jacket related and since they're bringing up Vegas it's probably fun and something unexpected (duh, on that one). Anyway. I hope we're in for a treat.

Lady -- once again I love your ideas. You should be promoted to band manager.  ;)

Oh that "chick" was Sarah Elizabeth Whitehead (don't know if she dropped Whitehead or not, they are now divorced).  And I don't remember Jim playing the omnichord, I think it was a drum machine and he was just singing at the mic.
