I do not like KoL that much. I've tried to get into them numerous times, but they never really did it for me.

And yeah, Rolling Stone is terrible.  I'm surprised that being on their cover still comes with some sort of prestige......
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

Well, it doesn't - but I'll be happy for MMJ if or when they make the cover, I'm always rooting for the guys to get the recognition they've worked so hard for...

But as for Rolling Stone... it's a very, very crappy magazine that jumped the shark many years ago. I got to a point a couple of years ago where I finally called them and asked them to stop sending it to me. Every issue proved they knew less about music than they did about politics.

--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Agreed.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

MMJ making Spin Cover > KoL making Rolling Stone Cover

KoL is hardly bad, but them being on the RS cover first hardly bothers me.

Basically, it means KoL have "sold out" more than MMJ, and in a shorter period of time.

I see these occurrences as just another positive for the Jacket

HAHAhhaaha KOL vs. MMJ is funny.
One good thing about music: when it hits you feel no pain.

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

They were on the cover, they just had to share it, but I get your point.

Obviously, I think MMJ>KOL, but I also think MMJ>Zac Efron and almost all the other clowns they put on their covers.  Rolling Stone is a shitty, corporate magazine and it shouldn't matter what they think of musical greatness anymore.

KOL are the rock version of the Jonas Brothers.  They were basically signed by the record company because they "looked good".  The first two albums were ok but they have just gotten worse as they have gotten bigger.  They are the type of band who does everything the label says as long as they get rich and can party.  On the other hand MMJ have done it on their own, in articles they actually talk about the music, and they have just gotten better and better live and on record.  They are in a postition where they can make the music they want without anyone looking over their shoulder and telling them what to do.  They probably will never be as big, sell as many tickets or be on the cover of RS but that is probably a good thing.

its safe to say that they are golden gods. and I worship them.
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

id say this is hardly a conversation.

KOL will - at best - end up being the Foo Fighters of this generation.  a constant barrage of radio hits, arena tours, etc. while being way better than most of the other huge commercial radio bands, but still not being that great.

that is a pretty low ceiling if you ask me.

I would be suprised if KOL didn't dissolve into the "where are they  now" files. I saw them in Nashville at a bar probably 5 years ago, on a spur of the moment gig, that they played to get out of the studio, and they were cooking. No make up, no hair-dos, nothing, just plain old rock and roll and they did rock; they brought it. I see them today on TV and they look really dumb (to me) and their music seems to have followed. They rock out great, but to me when they get all touchy feely or cerebral, they lose me.

But don't hate them b/c they are beautiful. People do that to me and, well, it hurts...  :-/

Also, I can't even believe im debating this. Name one kol song that can even sniff the ass of an MMJ b-side. Dear Wife, el caporal, Chills, Where To Begin etc.

Obviously I like MMJ a bit.  (Really?  Understatement of the year?)  I also like KOL but I'm not really sure why we are comparing them.   :-/

That's why (until now) I'm staying out of this.  It's like comparing buffalo wings and eggs-over-medium.  Sure they're both two of the best products of chicken, but they are totally different meals altogether. You should never compare them.
