i tend to wear music out. i hate it, but i do it.
For the past two years i havent gotten sick of  MMJ music and it blows my mind.i think it is impossible to wear out "Z". it is all i listen to in my car.  I used to be utterly obsessed with Wilco and i TOTALLY got sick of them.
cheers.

I almost got a tattoo of the bear catching bats image from one of their tour posters on my back (still trying to plan for that); I'm afraid i have this affliction as well.

And when I say "I'm afraid" i mean i am very lucky to be alive to experience this band from their humble beginnings until now.  It's been quite a ride and it's just starting which is even more exciting.  They make me feel young. They really made me believe in rock n' roll music again and brought mystery, fun and conviction into music in a time in my life when I needed it most.

Killgies

I have Jacketitis as well. I have to make myself not brag about how great this band is. I will put all their albums/b-sides/live shows on a playlist and just listen to them all weekend.

I am afflicted as well, and love it!  My wife tells me I should really call the band and ask for a PR job because I'm talking about them so much, buzzed or not.  Any bro, friend, relative I haven't seen in a while I try to turn them on to the Jacket (it's worked on a few but I need to up my success rate).
I haven't posted on here much, but have read thru most of the posts on here over the last 8-10 months and I have to say it's a pretty cool community.  Aside from the newbie problems recently (I know- I'm a newbie myself, but not a troublemaking one at all, just someone who loves the music), most on here all seem to  enjoy the commonalities of what MMJ does to us all.  I have to say I haven't had a band reach/touch me like this in quite a long time.  Looking forward to Waterfront Park in August and hopefully Detroit too.  Hope to see some of you all somewhere down the line!

Blasphamy...........How could anyone get sick of The Tweed Dog and boys?.......I love them #1 in my music world play them daily and could never get sick of them....I could never get sick of MMJ either.......they are two in the same in my book.......

I think my Jacketitis has gotten worse...ever since EU came out I can't stop listening to it. I have been playing it over and over. I'm not doing my work, and I feel consumed all day...

I am afflicted as well. I have a huge and diverse CD collection, but some bands I always come back too and MMJ is certainly one of them. I have been listening to them almost constantly since Evil Urges was released and I never get tired of them. They're just an awesome band.

I consider myself more of a Jacket slave or zombie--I hear their music and my mind shuts down as my body is earnestly drawn to the sound and I attempt to climb into the speaker and meld with the vibrations therein.

Note to Riny--we need a zombie smiley...

QuoteI read this title "Jacket-titties" and thought it was some sort of ballsy appreciation thread for all of the hot chicks that like the Jacket.
Haha, I actually misread it the same way.

The Jacketitis is normal. you can rest easy.

HI there,
I am lisa your humble Love Dawg,  I heard them in 2004 and starting swimming in the pool of music.  I  needed everything.  I have 2 EU  and At Dawn/Tennessee Fire Demos Package in my car right now ....  I cannot stop!!!!!

I was in San Francisco for the DVD filming, ( you can see me during run thru ) and Berkley where I met  Vespachick  and lit up a lighter and held it up high and everybondy loved it.
And the acoustic set at the SF Palace of fine arts with Carl and Jim in a three piece suit.
I quiver each time I think of the three night run on New Years eve at the Fillmore and meeting ms_yvon in the front row standing next to the stage.
I feel like you are my family and we are the Jacket nation.

I vote for a sexiest Librarian contest.!!

Jacket Girls unite!! There are lots of hot chicks that like the Jacket.

Jacketitis:

The process of forsaking all other music in the name of only listening to My Morning Jacket.

Known symptoms: Random thrusting in people's faces.

once i went to my parents for dinner and they were watching austin city limits on tape. my nephew who was around 2 at the time was also there. he couldn't take his eyes off the screen. he watched more intently than some baby einstein junk. srsly. he's got the fever for the flavor of a crowd pleaser.

BUMP--c'mon people testify on how bad you got it!

I'm new to the board, but ever since I first heard MMJ, like 6 months ago, I can't stop listening to them. I only have Z, The Tennessee Fire, and Okonokos but that's pretty much all I listen to. Jacket-itis is great. I hope it never stops.

I don't think it will ever stop, well not for me anyway. This band is too addictive. I'm constantly listening to them.
How loud can silence get?

EvilGirl

Phew..I'm glad its not just me that has the problem!  .I was getting a bit worried that I was becoming obsessed with the band.  I have only been into them for a short while but just cant seem to get enough of them.  Seeing them live several times over the past few weeks hasn't helped,  its just made the addiction worse!. I have a large cd collection but I haven't played anything by anyone else at all lately, nothing else seems to do it for me in the same way and being new to the band I keep finding more tracks that I really love.  I have tried to beat the addition and force myself to listen to something else, but as my Last.fm page shows, its just not working!

Just this morning the CD player in my car said "Dude, Steam Engine again?!!?...you need some help"
