Hello everybody, now I'm back in my own flat after a very peaceful xmas holiday and a pretty good start of 2006 celebrating in my hometown. Hope you all had a lovely holiday and a great first half week of 2006 as well.

to update myself a little since I was looking this page up the last time before the holiday, does anyone know if mmj has putting out new european dates yet? or are there still nothing new?

No news yet. The best place to check is the 'shows' link at the top of the page. But I'm sure as soon as anybody notices an announcement a new thread will start.

Yeah, but how long can this pneumonia(or however you write it)-thing last? I mean, can't be longer than 2 months can it, so I figure, in March I want to see them in Belgium.

I wouldn't bet on it. Pneumonia's a lung condition and singing's a lung thing so it might take much longer for him to get tour fit. That's apart from all the planning and booking stuff that'll have to happen. It's not easy but try to be patient. It'll be worth the wait  :D

They're comming to Werchter, in June. I hope that's not the only show in Belgium for this year. I was kinda looking forward to seeing them in a medium venue.

Nevertheless, It would be a big bummer if the just played the festivals in Europe.
A combination of festivals an clubs would be great. But then again, we don't get to choose ;)

im just curious about this?  see, i found the european dates on the NME website at least a day before they were posted here.  i sorta see what youre saying, but then again i dont.  whats the harm in finding dates scattered about and posting them here?

Just found out where the Werchter rumour comes from:

Some guy in Belgium posted his dream festival-setup on a music blog (,http://blitzkriegnoise.blogspot.com/2006/01/werchter-2006-de-eerste-namen.html) and claimed it to be reliable

(It's actually not so difficult, he just took 40 bands who just had a record out).

A national newspaper (het laatste Nieuws) picked it up and published the list as 'final' without mentionning its so-called 'very reliable' source.

Somebody discovered that the paper used the blog as its source and now the paper has to apologize to its readers and the Werchter organisation.

Just to show where some rumours come from ;D

Actually, here in Belgium, we spend more time talking about cancelled MMJ shows, sick MMJ singers and rumoured MMJ gigs than actually seeing them ;D

We can have another 6 months now  ;)

Because it leads to speculation about tours and whatnot that may or may not happen.  Posting "hey, they are coming to City X on July 8th" sounds like it's official, when in fact it may not be at all.  Why get people's hopes up when it's not official??  If it's posted here, it's happening.  If not, it's just idle speculation.  

I'm just sayin'.  After a couple of years of wild speculation about dates and tours and the fallout here when MMJ didn't go to City X when the promoter's daughter's butler's cousin said they would, it gets old.

Historically, MMJ has always had a full line of shows in the US in June and often into July.

I highly doubt that MMJ will go to Europe in June, seeing as how the Bonnaroo Music Festival is Mid-June (16th-19th), and the band hasn't skipped out on the 'Roo since its conception.

Bonnaroo will announce its line-up on February 1st, so this may be confirmed relatively soon.

Maybe they'll hit Europe in October-November?
