Steam Engine. Thats all I have to say.

I was just poking around looking at these old posts and wanted to find this thread and see all the chatter that was gping on before our first show.  Took me two more yrs to sign up on this here forum....too bad I waited so long.

Ironic that I found this comment by ghosts :)

Is this show available on the live music archive?  If not, I may record the stream.

I believe it is.  My first show was a year later at the 930 club so I recall going back and listening to their other 930 shows.  I don't think it was too good a recording however.

EDIT: http://www.archive.org/download/http://www.archive.org/details/mmj2005-10-10
I'm guessing the stream is of much better quality??

Thanks, Rob.  I'll check it out when I'm home.

So, you're still in the Baltimore area, right?  I've got an uncle on the other side of DC, Falls Church VA.  We used to do Dead shows together.  I'm hoping to get him to some MMJ this summer/fall, so maybe we'll cross paths.

BTW, he just got back from Japan.  He is the head of radiation health safety for the FDA and got to ride 2 aftershocks over 7.  He was in his hotel on the 37th floor for one of 'em and says its something he will NEVER forget.  I'm glad he's home.

Has this thread been Johnny Yackked!  Just kidding....love you Johnny........this was also my first show.....never heard a single jacket song before this show.........after rocking a few songs, they started playing this slow quiet song, and I told Trish that I was running to the bathroom........when I arrived back at our spot, all hell broke loose........the song was dondonte.......little did I know that those soft tender notes would lead to the crescendo of what was to become one of my favorite all time songs.  Can't wait to see y'all in Alabama!

darkglow

since the thread's been yackked..

my first show was at lebowski fest 2004 in louisville, ky.. i was a stage production guy in the summer time and had no clue who MMJ was.. i was just there to work a show..

first song out of the gates.. i see some guy in a dirty bathrobe dressed like "the dude" from the big lebowski and he's singing "Bob Dylan - Man in Me" at the top of his lungs.. I was hooked instantly
