sweet, thanks for keeping up on this man.  maybe Riny can stick it to the top somehow or link it like he did 2005 right inside the 2006 thread.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Have they ever played How Do You Know live?

havibulin

QuoteHave they ever played How Do You Know live?

Yes, i saw it in chicago a few years back.

BH

QuoteHave they ever played How Do You Know live?

According to my records, they only played it one time in '05 and zero times in '06.  That one time was in Columbia, MO on 11-21-05.  This show is not available as far as I know.

However, Toronto 5-28-04 is one of my favorite shows, it's on the archive and it includes How Do You Know? and How Could I Know?

But since there is no post for '04 setlists.  How Would You Know? ;)

Those last two paragraphs made my head spin.

Here's a link to all mmj shows pre '05.
No stats though and using the search won;t weild any meaningful results.

BH

Nice!  I have been to that site but I never noticed that part.  Thanks!

What do you guys think of the likeliness of them playing Weeks Go By Like Days anytime soon.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

chunt983

thanks for posting this, very convenient. I'm going to cleveland and i have to keep checking the setlists as i await my turn and i can't believe how good the setlists are so far. i have yet to hear "the bear" live or "phone went west". i love that jam at the end of phone went west so i am hoping to hear at least one of the two at cleveland.  "nashville to kentucky" is also my favorite MMJ song and i really hope to hear that one, glad to see that in the steady lineup.

anyone have a set list for the show at the Pageant in Saint Louis on 11/20 yet?

Quoteanyone have a set list for the show at the Pageant in Saint Louis on 11/20 yet?

This is my post from the "St. Louis- The Pageant" thread.

Can you help me with the location of Butch Cassidy and Tonight I Want 2 Celebrate?

Wow.  I am speechless.  Here is the setlist as best as I can remember.  I am pretty sure it is complete but I forgot where a couple songs fit in.  Please help me!

1. At Dawn
2. Lowdown
3. Gideon
4. What A Wonderful Man
5. Off The Record
6. It Beats 4 U
7. Wordless Chorus
8. Phone Went West
9. Lay Low
10. Dondante
11. X-Mas Curtain
12. One Big Holiday
13. Run Thru

ENCORE

14. They Ran
15. By My Car
16. Golden
17. Dancefloors
18. Mahgeetah
19. Anytime

They also played Butch Cassidy and I think Tonight I Want to Celebrate which gives us 21 total songs.  I can't remember where these two fit.  If somebody that got a setlist can please help.

Anyway, what a blast.  It was going to take a lot to live up to my expectations and they delivered.  The sound was fantastic.  I had a spot on the floor right in front of Carl, which put a bit further away from Jim than I wanted to be but I could easily run back and forth to where my heifiweisen was waiting for me.  I also had a nice view of Patrick.  Bo had the coolest light show going on behind him most of the night that gave him a great effect of just looking like a blacked out shadow all the time.  But the night belonged to two tone.  Seeing him slap that bass up close gave me a new appriciation of him.  They don't show enough of him in OKONOKOS so this was a real treat.

The music was unbelievable.  From those first notes of At Dawn to the last jam on Anytime I was mesmerized.  Off The Record just rules live.   The middle part of the outro on this song along with the stepped up light show is so friggin' Floydian I could hardly take it.  My first Phone Went West.  The jam at the end wasn't as long as maybe Austin for example but it was sick none the less.

Dondante was pretty typical but Jim did add some louder guitar parts during Carl's sax at the end.  It blended great together but I think I like it better with just the sax and the little soft repetitive guitar strokes that Jim usually does.
OBH and Run Thru to rock our socks off at the end of the set!

I was expecting some soft numbers to lead off the encore and they didn't dissapoint.  I most wanted to hear By My Car and Steam Engine.  I didn't get Steam but By My Car was chilling.  I teared up a bit.  There was a girl next to me for Ran/Car/Golden and we kept looking at each other with this wow look on our faces, and high fiving.  We were both feelin' it and it was a special moment between fans.  I wish I could remember her name.

Golden had a bit of cool little change at the end and Mahgeetah was just unbeleivable.  I take this song for granted to often.  The crowd was fantastic, from belting out wordless to jumping up and down for Mahgeetah.

I got to meet Tenn and one of her good friends that travelled an hour and a half from the fine state of Illinois.  Rock on girls!  Nice to meet you guys.  Tenn and I bought our merch together.  Moon shirt for me, OKONOKOS hoodie for her!  Cheers Tenn!

Wax Fang was everthing I expected and more.  I will be looking out for more of these guys.  I highly suggest getting to the show on time to see these guys.

Sorry for the long post but I needed to get this down on paper to document my wonderful evening.

My throat is dry, my head hearts, I'm tired and queezy but I have never felt better in my life!

Long Live The Jacket!

Jimisms:

Jim said he wanted to go to the city museum but it was closed on Sundays.  He said he heard that it was like "somebody got a truck full of concrete and 50 hits of acid and went crazy"

Instead he said they went up in the arch.  He said he loved the arch.  He called it a "steel rainbow form hell!" He loved the idea that it would still be there after us humans had all killed each other and the dinasours were back!

Does anyone know if "I Think I'm Going to Hell" and "Hopefully" were solo at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas on Thursday?

(sorry if someone has already answered this)

I'm going to be really sad if they were and I missed it. :( That stream on here of Hell is my favorite thing ever.

JohnnyRage

Not sure about Hopefully, think it was solo (most of the solo stuff had Carl on slide guitar off to the side), but I think I'm going to Hell was with the full band, and it was great.

I don't think the Enchore for Thursday Gypsy Tea Room is Correct, I thought for sure it ended with Run Thru followed by Anytime which was the end of the show. I'm 100% certain.

Anyone?

I am excited for the Philly show.  It is great that they are starting to play Honest Man this tour.  It is by far one of my favorite songs and I have yet to hear it live.  I can only imagine how they will extend this song, hopefully I won't have to imagine for long.   :)

justinperkins

"They Ran" at the Austin show was kickass, thanks so much for posting the setlists!

Now if they were just easier to read/find.

George_Savage

QuoteWhat do you guys think of the likeliness of them playing Weeks Go By Like Days anytime soon.

I've been asking for that one since March 20, 2002, and they haven't done it again yet (that I know of).  It was played on the (I think this is correct) 4/16/00 show in Holland or Denmark (one of the best-sounding early shows, by far).

Low Dog

BH

Going into tonights big show, I thought I would post a few interesting statistics based on the tour so far after the first 10 nights.  Only 10 shows so far and this is what they havn't played yet from their four studio albums!!!!!

Z
Into the Woods
Knot Comes Loose
ISM
Masterplan
One In The Same
AD
Death Is The Easy Way
Just Becuase I Do
If It Smashes Down
Strangulation
TF
If All Else Fails
It's About Twilight Now
Evelyn Is Not Real
War Begun
Picture Of You
I Will Be There When You Die

Not to mention that they have also played, Tonight I Want To Celebrate With You, Sooner and O Is The One.

All together they have done 39 different songs.

No covers so far, just like OKONOKOS.

Also, I don't remember anyone mentioning this but when they played two nights in Dallas they played 21 songs both nights.  Of these 21 songs only 12 were repeats!  Those 12 were the 8 "Z" songs and the other old standbyes, Mahgeetah, OBH, Run Thru and Golden.  So basically, they didn't repeat a single song except the songs that are pretty much locks on a nightly basis.  So if you went to both shows you got to see 30 different songs!  Out of 39 played so far!(Lucky SOB's).

They have played the same 8 Z songs everywhere except Knoxville which got only 7 minus It Beats 4U.

So far they have opened with At Dawn 3 times, It Beats 4U twice, The Bear, Nashville to KY, The Dark, OBH and one unknown (New Orleans)

I hate to sound like a broken record but if anyone can help with the detail of New Orleans and St. Louis it would be helpful.  If you are blessed with getting a setlist after a show, I think it's your responsiblity to share with the rest of us.  Rock Law.

So how many more of those 14 songs from the big four albums do you think we can knock out over the rest of the tour?  I'm thinking 6 more songs, plus maybe a Sooner, a Where To Begin and a How Could I Know?

What would you like to hear most from the remaining 14 songs.  Do you think the tour bus contains a banjo?.......

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Good post!

I would have loved to have heard Oxen during one of the two Dallas shows and the Austin show. The Acoustic Citsuoca version of Sooner is so good that I can live with just listening to that.
