easy jim

So soon after payday, know it seemed a shame!

doEVILslittle

I've been pumping myself into overload all day for radio city by listening to the return to thunderdome part deux all day, what is the into music on the boot that is interrupted by patrick crashing his way into the start of evil urges and nearly 4 straight hours of music...

ive been racking what little of my brain that isnt devoted to mmj. it sounds like a big band re-versioning of a turntablists song i heard (or maybe this is the original and the other version ive heard is the change) either way, i think ive heard it in a car commercial or something....WHAT ISSSS IT??

shockadow

I think it's from a Lexus commercial, too.
O, How time flies, with crystal clear eyes.  But it's cold, it's cold, when you're ending with diamond eyes.

the name of the song playing at the beginning of the show is:

Title Music From Merchant Ivory's Film Bombay Talkie  - Shankar Jaikishan

It's off The Darjeeling Limited soundtrack (great movie for those who have never seen it), I'm not sure about the posting rules on this board (mp3 wise) but if I am allowed to I can post a link to it.  Let me know.

DeJonz

I wish you were right, since I'm also looking for the intro tune, but that's not the one. It's not on the Darjeeling ltd soundtrack, I'm afraid.

edit: sorry that's not the "intro" song I thought people were talking about the song leading up to the show, I would also like to know what that song was before EU.

doEVILslittle

also, does jim say return to terrordome? what an unfortunate mistake if he did

EDIT:
the original is "bird's lament (in memory of charlie parker)" by louis "moondog" hardin which is sampled in "Get a Move On" by Mr. Scruff

thanks to my littlest sister for telling me it's in a car commercial the millisecond i started playing it for her....refined my google search immensely

Love Dogg

Does anyone remember which song they were playing wen Jim started doing the kicks?  It was almost as epic as the Van Morrison kicks in the Last Waltz.  I can't remember which song they were playing.  Please help.  :-/
"Sometimes it runs its course in a day, babe.  Sometimes it goes from night after night."

blueskyink

Yeah I'm pretty sure that Jim said Terrordome, that's what it sounded like to me at the show, but its forgivable we all knew what he meant.

I know it's very late, but, much like coachella, I took QUITE a few pictures at the roo, and I was front row so that helped... I've got about 160-170 quality (kinda?) pictures here on the flickr, and I know they're not as good as that other person's in the official gallery, but I do my best with a crappy camera and no photopass!

they're on like pages 5 through 8 of the gallery
