I imagine a number of folks are hitting multiple stops on this tour.  I have tix, hotel, airfare, and car rental for 5 days, 4 nights, and 3 shows!  I am basically in heaven.  Grand total was $800, which I consider a bargain and money well spent.

Anyway, I will fly into B'ham on April 20, get the car, check in to the hotel, Medical Center Inn, then walk into downtown.  I hope to meet many of you in the process.

If anyone wants to ride to Nashville and/or Atlanta, I should have 2-4 seats in this rental car (4 might be wishful thinking).  I gladly offer rides to the next two shows but would appreciate some help with gas $$$.  As Rain Man says, "I'm an excellent driver!" so no worries.

I'm driving from Atlanta on April 24 to Raleigh, NC to catch my flight home to New Hampshire, if that helps anyone.  I need to leave pretty early, though, (staying at the Comfort Inn Buckhead North) and would have to drop you at or near RDU airport.

Those potentially interested can email me at johnnYYac@comcast.net

I'm doing the same run, dude. Its gonna be SICK. While I'm meeting friends in Bham and Nash, I'm basically flying solo (single seats up front) to those two shows. Hit me up if you want to grab a pre-show beer or chief out my truck before heading in.

CAN'T. FUCKING. WAIT.

woah, you guys sound rad.  wish i could join (not putting it out of the question yet)

If it's anything like the STS9 show (at the same venue)... it will be hazy.  And *chocolate-y*... and god knows what else ;)

It looks like a fancy venue - and it is! - but it's huge and I'm just sayin, I've seen it happen.  Just be safe!  :)

haha i was at that show, definitly alot more than haze goin on through the crowd. Just a bunch of people under the influence of ecstacy and whatnot raaging to electronica music. Not exactly my scene but it was still a cool show to be at.

As for the venue, its by far the most elegant theater ive ever been to, but thats not saying a lot.

LOL, true that.  Yeah, I was actually very surprised about everything that was going on around us.  We were like 5 rows back on the floor, and sh** was gettin crazy down there.  I'm not into the "ravin" scene or anything myself, and was actually excited to get a *seat* so that I didn't have "too-f*ed-up dude" elbowing me in the head... but of course you had people trying to sneak down there and *stand* two-to-a-seat and whatnot, crowding out those of us that had good seats.  And people were all up in the aisles trying to dance their asses off, and security was going ape-shit trying to keep them in line... not realizing that their efforts were futile against the drug scene going on there.

Definitely a great venue (acoustically) for STS9, and yes, it was a fun show... but I think they'd do better (logistically) at WorkPlay where those that want to get all elbow-y and stuff have a dance floor in which to do so.  I mean, it is STS9, and it's hard not to groove to their tunes... I just think it makes more sense to have an artist like that at a place where dancing is more feasible.

I'm pumped about the MMJ show being there though - because even though I rock out to some MMJ, I don't necessarily feel the urge to shake my rump as much as I would at an STS9 show.  I more stand up, rock out, sing along, and do some serious air guitar.  haha :)

is the lack of wanting to shake your rump at MMJ because you're not rolling as hard as your were at STS9? I hear that's where all that haze comes from.  The sweat dripping off the candy flippers.

da dum tssh.

but I agree, those STS9 fans need a place do get their spin around on.  Do you know the type of person I'm talking about?  The guy who is so fucked up that all he can do is spin around in circles.  saw this guy with a really bad/good case of the spins at 'roo 04 and the circle around him keep expanding out as his spin diameter increased.  He looked so fucking happy.  Wasn't hurtin' a soul.  Why is that illegal?  All it is, is fun.

I think you guys should Rave HARDER than those STS9 fans did.  You know as well as I Jacket fans need nothing more than a quick sip of beer or whiskey and perhaps a toke of the chronic to truly unleash their inner STS9 dance moves.  I'd love to see more people draped in glowsticks and goofy shit this tour.  It'd be awesome if the scene was just a bunch of normal weirdos.   like one of those nights in the closet trannies have every now and then with their other "girlfriends" and get all dressed up.  it's kind of like that only we rock hard as hell.

to be honest, being a true jacket fan aint always easy.  in fact it's flat out exhausting.  but in a musical hetero sex kinda way. or homo/lesbo if that's your flav.  all flav's are cool in my book.  taste what body partiths you please.

I have a seriously strong feeling jacket fans are going to rock way harder than spun out STS9 ravers rave.  obviously blinded and bias by their glory, my morning jacket will always rock harder than God.

ps. certain drugs at my morning jacket are transcendent.  use with caution.

and to stay on topic.  yac I envy you for your freedom, you embrace it fearlessly.  rock hard, and be safe out there.  picking up some of these people on here, ya just never know.  BH, Dylan, all the chicks are at least a little crazy (be careful), Kory, cpt. heady, abe,  shit dude you go around posting that shit and you're going to get stuck with Tracy for 3 shows.   :D  just kidding I'm kinda drunk and this board kicks ass, n00bs included.  except the prudes.  party on yac, your energy along with the rest of these rock pimps will be unstoppable.  can't wait to hear the tapes, if the audience doesn't blow all the tapers diaphragms.

LOL - spin dude - you called that one.  My first 'roo experience was '08, and it was my boyfriend's first festival experience, and pretty much his first experience seeing a bunch of people on whatever kind of trip/ecstacy/combo they were on.  It was funny because he had never been around that scene and he kept looking at me for validation - like - is it ok that they are doing that?  Are they gonna be ok?  Are they having fun doing that?  I was like yea - they're good - they all get f*ed up in their own way and do their own thing.  Spin dude was totally there, or actually it was spin dude and dudette, together, in harmony.  You know that sealed the deal on their relationship that night - haha!

Seriously though... you can't help but see the smiles on peoples' faces and know they're having a good time.  And those smiles are CONTAGIOUS!  I catch myself gettin all giggly... for the most part.  I just don't like it when they get to the point where they're sooo f*ed up they don't realize where their space ends and yours begins... or you know, they have the trippin pukes right at your feet.  It's at that point where I'm like ok, I'm done with all that.  And then I think to myself... damn I'm getting old... because in my early 20's, I was probably that girl.  Not necessarily the puker girl, but definitely the "i dont give a shit, i'm here to dance, and get outta my way" girl.  LOL, funny how things change.

And yes I've gotten very off-topic... back on topic - I'm going to two of the three shows mentioned in this thread and may just say f* it and go to the nashville show as well.  The trilogy does sound pretty damn nice.

Thanks, Sticky.  Its not really freedom, exactly.  My wife recognized this is my new passion and prefers it to my having an affair, buying an expensive sports car, or having some other form of mid-life crisis.

At 42, I've reached a point in my life that I can plunk down $$$ once in a while.  Being a teacher, I get 2 week-long breaks (Feb. and April) plus 2 months off in summer, perfect for being the father of three little girls (8, 5, and almost 2).  My Feb. break is this week, and Thursday I'm going to Furthur (B. Weir and P. Lesh band)!
