Can You Put Your Soft Helmet On My Head

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Alright.  I'll make this quick.  Lot's of tequila and wine this evening.  Oh yeah, and that awesome bowl of udon noodles my mom just made.  Anywho...Got to go to the show with my mother and forum member APR.  Was a pleasure to meet you man.

The Jefferson Theater was a great venue.  The acoustics were spot on.  We were 3rd row, on the left, by Ben.  I wish there was something negative I could say about this show but I can't.  Just the dudes in front that kept getting up to get beers and piss but it wasn't all that bad.  The talking was at a minimum.

I know APR wasn't digging Moore's stage presence and charisma but he is what he is, a folk singer's singer.  It's about the the music, not him.

Ben was extraordinary and Jim was on key and sung clean all night.

It's hard to pin down any highlights because it was all so beautiful but Electrify was special with Ben and the Where to Begin with the extended rockin' acoustic ending was something else.  Still got chills thinking about it.

That's it.  It was amazing.  So exceeded my high expectations.

Great show in a very intimate venue! My wife became friends with Daniel when they met in the Peace Corps around 3 years ago. He graciously hooked us up with tickets (we still, however, donated to the cause) and introduced us to Jim and Ben after the show. All the guys were super cool and stuck around to sign posters and talk after the show.

On an interesting side note, Daniel told us that there was an elderly woman that was like a grandmother to him growing up that lived in the area, but unfortunately she was sick and couldn't make it to the show (90 yrs old!). Since she couldn't attend, the guys were packing up and heading to her house for a private show in her living room!
Cheers

That is awesome!  Great story.  Thanks for sharing.

Listened to my tape briefly and it sounds fantastic. There were a bunch of tapers there and recordings should be popping up on etree soon if they already aren't some over there. This was my first time hearing Ben and Daniel and I was blown away. Ben Solee is like Paul Simon but on the cello.
Ruckus it was great running into you again and I want to know what your mom thought as well and is she still bummed because she couldn't video tape :) I snagged the setlist from Ryan at the board and was about to post it but see you beat me to the punch. Got my poster signed and did the terrorist fist jab with Jim after the show. Perfect evening all the way around. Nice to have these, every little once in a while.

No security but the stage was 4 feet high and the setlists were at least 12 feet back.  I Beverly Hills Ninja'd it up there.

My moms LOVED the show.  We had a great time.

Yes, wine all day than I found a nice bottle of tequila stashed in my folks closet so I went to town on that.  It was delicious.

Really great story SS88!  That's the kinda stuff that's great to hear.  Thanks for sharing.

Good to see ya again Lynnzzz and thanks again for taping.   I can't wait to burn a copy and mail to my mom.  She was pissed enough that they searched her bag but I was able to convince them that they didn't need to card a 62 year old lady. ;D

also notice that his parents have to hide the liquor when they know he's coming over.. at least they're trying not to enable..

I love when Yim kicks his right leg (2:53 on).  Always awesome.  Letting his hair grow, too, I see.
