QuoteWHAT. A. SHOW.

Phone Went West is a great song to "end" the show on before a rippin' One Big Holiday.
LONG LIVE THE JACKET

I really miss PWW.   Until Fri night they hadn't played it since 2008, and for a while it had gotten a bit overplayed IMO, but after a long absence I'm REALLY jonesin' for it tomorrow night.

QuoteAs everyone here has already said - amazing show. My sixth, and easily the best I've seen.

My presence there last night was all thanks to a totally rockin' 29-year old angel with an extra ticket!

I couldn't believe I was there and still couldn't believe it on the drive back to RI. All about living in the moment. Can't wait to do it again!

Cheers!

Ha, you are too sweet!  Glad the ticket went to somebody who totally appreciated it.
And I agree, I have seen many, many shows now, and this one is right up there at the top as far as being one of the best!

Here's some pics from Portland.  A bit heavy on Jim shots but he was in the way  ;D

I can't figure out how to post them here, but here's the link.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

This show was epic!!! Me, my brother, and my cousin drove up from Boston and got into Portland around 3. Poked around some places in the theater district, including grabbing some lunch at Norm's. Then we started pregaming at the Downtown Lounge, which is right across from the State Theatre. As we're slugging down pitchers, who else but Two-Tone Tommy strolls by the window and into the restaurant next door. We finally worked up the courage to go introduce ourselves and he was really cool. We didn't wanna make a huge scene in the restaurant so we kept it somewhat brief, but it was definitely a highlight getting to meet one of the guys. Then we polished off some more drinks at Norm's before heading into the venue. This theater was awesome! It was classical and looked great, there were bars in the back and definitely a smokey tinge to the air. Got right in the front row, center stage. The show itself was absolutely incredible. This was my fourth show and by far the best. After being third row in Holyoke, we didn't think it could be topped, but this blew it out of the water. Tons of energy, amazing setlist. Highlights for me were Dondante, Steam Engine, Phone Went West, and all the stuff off Tennessee Fire. Because we were so close, we had tons of interaction with the band and Tommy definitely remembered us. At times I'd be headbanging and pounding the stage with one arm, only to look up and realize Jim is standing over me jamming out, expertly maneuvering his feet around my other arm which lay outstretched on the stage. By the time it was over, I didn't know which way was up, I had my mind completely blown. I doubt I'll ever be able to top this experience, but I'm certainly going to try. Can't wait to see them again in the future!
his arms were thin, and off into the night they ran
