Just went to this morning's presale and got my ticket.  Looks like a GA show, so I guess there's no need to stress out, but the venue seating chart suggests reserved seating up front.  I wonder if they're making this completely GA.  Anyone with insight?

Countdown To MMJ @ Portland, ME October 15, 2010

I just bought tickets today, It will be my first MMJ show. I can't wait, it looks like a great place for a show.

Also going and will be our first MMJ show. We're pumped. My wedding gift to my husband and I.

Am I silly to think I might have my record signed?

I thought having Jim sign my Omnichord at Newport was a pipe dream, then... voila!  A lot of folks got to rub elbows with Jim this past week and the guys appear generally accessible.  I guess it depends on the venue.  Hanging out after the show near the buses sometimes works, though even with a backstage pass (which I got AFTER the show in Birmingham), I missed them by a few minutes.

So, updated roll call:

I'll be looking at hotels soon.  I'll post what I find.  Its always nice when you can find a place close to the venue.

That sounds like a great idea, I am not familiar with the area so a hotel somewhere's close would be great. thanks

I'll be coming in from Boston for the show.

The show is indeed 100% GA.

For folks looking for hotels closeby, the Eastland Park Hotel is just down the street from the State Theatre.

La Quinta Inn & Suites, $139, 1.62 miles from State Theater, so-so reviews

Eastland Park Hotel, $210, about 1/10 mile from State Theater (0.34 driving) - this might be worth it, especially if someone wanted to split it.

That's all I got so far.

I'm going with friends.  We always stay at the Eastland altough the rates are usually cheaper but it is a great hotel.  Bar at the top floor and big rooms..and last time we literally heard them soundchecking from our hotel room.

I just booked the Eastland Park Hotel.  If you go to their website: http://www.eastlandparkhotel.com/ , input the date and look for the tab that says "Select a Room Inclusive Package", then choose "Advance Purchase Rate". You'll get a good discount ($178.49 vs. $210) but the reservation cannot be cancelled,so be warned.

Walking distance, on same street as the State Theater, is LESS THAN 1/10 MILE (about 330 feet, no less)!!!

Add me to the list. Coming down from New Brunswick, Canada with a crew of friends. About a six hour drive. The Eastland sounds nice I think I'll try for it. Anybody think they'll announce an opener or do you think it will be an exclusively MMJ show? Let's keep this thread goin!

Hey guys i've been looking on the internet for pictures of the state theatre but no luck. do you think they haven't realeased pictures of the new layout since it's not yet re-opened? all i found were pictures of old seating charts from before they closed down. which makes me wonder. we're sure that this will be a full on general admission show?

I'll be there with a +1 (probably a Jacket virgin because my Jacket crew from Philly can't make it)

I really hope they use this show as a dress rehearsal for the T5 shows.  It would make sense for them to play the songs they have not played live in awhile...
