I'm guessing the show is in the books now or very soon.  Full setlist shall be interesting.  I think Chills is the most interesting and I'm wondering what version they played of it.

That venue looked so gorgeous.  Happy for all those that made that show.  Jealous indeed.

what was the talk of the new song?   didn't see it on the setlist.   Did it end up being Butch Cassidy?

yep. that's what i was thinking it was after I saw the full setlist. John sent me another text this morning saying that the one he thought was new was Butch Cassidy. He also said he met all 5 of them at his hotel this morning...lucky bastard

Ridiculous show...amazing night..Hung out with the whole band for like 2 hours.   Talked to Patrick for a good 20 minutes..nicest guy in the world.  Jim literally cheers me as he was walking out of the bar at closing, told him i'd see him at Levon's.  He was so excited for it..pretty surreal.

That's pretty sweet for John, and that setlist is off the hook...some pretty good rare ones.

what a great show and an amazing, intimate venue. It helps when you are able to walk in when the doors open and get your spot leaning up against the stage (Carl side). Was able to see Carl's setlist song-by-song before the show opened and wished I hadn't but knew we were all in for an epic night.

My highlights:
-The James Brown slide across the carpeted stage by Jim that tore his pants during Wordless
-Chills (was listening to it on the ride up and surprised they played it)
-Evelyn
- Circuital (never heard it before)
- Carried Away - great Carl song
- Smokin'->Run Thru - great segue
- Steam Engine

Overall probably my favorite show, but being that close to the boys is definitely influencing my decision.

The MMJ/State poster they gave away when walking out was a nice touch as well.

Enjoy NYC and the T5 shows everyone!

You folks had an AWESOME SHOW! Beautiful setlist. :-)

Okay.  Where to begin?

Got to Norm's and met up with Erin (monkeyboy a.k.a. AXG) and his friend, Matt, whom I'd met at Essex Jct. VT.  Great guys.  Doors opened at 6:30 but show started late (8pm; ended 10:30).  You've seen the setilist.  Sorry for my "new song" alert.  I don't have enough listens of Tennessee Fire to recognize a 2010 version of Butch Cassidy.  Got that straightened out this morning when I ran into Bo at Starbucks!

I lost my wife for the second half of the show.  She enjoyed the balcony while I remained 2-3 back from the rail.  Met Lauren and her husband.  She's on the forum but I forget her screen name (EDIT: jahmazed- poster of the setlist! let's try imamazed, hmm?).  She came up to me and asked, "are you the guy with the Omnichords?"  Yep.

Lots of TTF gems and just great energy in their performance.  Of course, I pretty much always say that my most recent show was the best show I've seen, but I think I mean it for this one.  The setlist speaks for itself.

Jim muffed the lyrics on Steam Engine twice (rare and he covered it very well), tore his pants at the knee during his Wordless power slide (goddamn those carpeted stages!), but was ever the showman.

There was a second poster sold at the show, only 35 available (what I heard).  They were sold out, so I'm stuck with the one I ordered pre-show and 4 copies of an 11 x 17 version given out after the show.  One of 'em has markings on it now, though, so I'm not sure what to do with it...
;)

Y'see, I let Michele sleep in this morning and went across the street to Starbucks.  I turned to leave and saw Bo in line.  We talked for maybe 10 minutes.  Some gems include some interest in a solo instrumental album someday, clarifying that it was Butch Cassidy, not some new song (oops!), and the challenges for next week, as they DO NOT EXPECT TO REPEAT ANY SONG DURING THE ENTIRE T5 RUN!  Those of you going for the full run are in for a treat even more special given that nugget of info.  He mentioned that Chills challenged him last night.

Got back to the hotel to hear that Lauren ran into Carl in the hotel lobby.  I checked on the wife, then headed back down to find the boys getting ready to go.  I love that Ryan Pickett (I think it was him; soundboard god) says, "Hey, John!" like we're old buddies, then as I'm shaking hands with Carl, he says, "I'm Carl."  Like I don't know who he is!  Jim and Tommy were pretty quiet, though I did talk with Tommy about his cool wife, Linda.  Reminded Jim we'd met in Newport and that he'd signed my OM-84; not sure he remembered.  Still, gracious as hell.

I spoke with them for about 10 minutes and gave Carl a card with my website on it, so the boys can check out my Omnichord covers of their music.  They've received all submitted questions from Jason @ The Steam Engine, so they'll decide which 5 to answer (though I got Patrick thinking early about the role of his long hair in performing).  They loved last night, drove off in their two minivans to the Ramble, and left me with a great memory, some interesting insight into their musical plans, and the conclusion, already drawn, that they are just really nice guys.

Nice Yac! Yeah, that setlist looks great with all the TTF-centric tunes that havent been played since Stonehenge it seems. Im hoping now that theyve been practicing their entire catalog, that setlists will begin to look more like this and theyll vary it up more after T5. Probably wishful thinking though.

That posters pretty sweet but it sucks that your kids scribbled on it already.

You didnt ask them if theyre going to record & release the T5 shows by chance, did ya?

wow- sounds like a spectacular night and one of those shows you will remember forever.  so glad for those who got to experience what had to be one of the coolest setlists in ages and for those of you who got to hang with the band and see firsthand what awesome guys they really are.

2 more days until T5!
was some shakin' and some record playin'

Great stuff JY!  If what you said is indeed true about NO REPEATS, we all really are in for a treat next week. :o  I'm seriously gonna have to attach myself to someone who really knows their shit because I'm gonna have trouble recognizing a lot of tunes from the 1st night then.

I should also mention, on the way home, I'm grabbed some frames for my posters at Michaels.  They've got a sale; buy one, get one for 1 cent.  Don't go to the Concord, NH store, though.  I bought all 8 of their basic black aluminum 18 x 24 frames!  All told, 8 standard poster frames and 2 of the 11 x 17's for under $100!

Yeah, I consider myself a solid fan but get stumped once and a while.
