Where people standing that they heard a lot of people talking? I was about 10 feet from the stage in front of Jim and after If it smashes down and I Needed It Most I commented to my wife and friends that it was so nice how quiet it was. They all agreed.
If you are standing near the bar or on the balconies I think you are going to hear more chatter..

Taking non stop photos is wrong but you don't have to let it annoy you.

QuoteSO happy I was surrounded by such FANTASTIC forum people who were WAY into the show and not talking!

This was such an unbelievably intense show for me.  Honest Man - holy shit;  Phone Went West - I think I somehow sprained my wrist.  Un-fucking real; Strangulation -- almost TOO powerful for me.  Miss you - WOW.

Bob's highlights were X Mas Curtain, Honest Man, and the fact that he knew the last song and I didn't :)  Black Sabbath....go figure :)

I can't believe how these guys continue to pull this shit off, and boy did Jim look like he was having fun!

Very excited to see Carl tonite and give him my FULL undivided attention!

Hoping the crowds don't continue to beome a burden as the week goes on, but as my 7 yr old daughter says, "you gotta make the best of it..."

I'd keep your eye on that one if I were you

QuoteWell here is my quick rant.

Crowd- The worst crowd I have ever experienced at an MMJ show. Talking the ENTIRE show. This little girl took 300 TERRIBLE photos on both camera phone and regular phone. Frat bros and sis's were out and shitfaced in full effect. It really took away from the show.

However- Cobra, Phone Went West, BHighway, Hopefully were the highlights!

But how could you be mad at someone for taking pictures with a regular phone. Impressed is what I'd be.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

i didn't hear the talking either..only a couple times.
the first night, some dude kept yelling to Jim from the back but then Jim responded, which kept him quiet the rest of the night..
talking definitely has not been an issue..most people have seemed really into it, mesmerized or rocking out.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I appreaciated the massive shushes going on during It Smashes Down

It's just going to get worse.

That said, I don't think it's been that bad yet. There were these two guys next to me (I'm about to shit talk, sorry if you're a forum member), one of the older people I was next to, or at least they looked old, was making out like a hormonal teenagers to the point it got really, really awkward.

I had to laugh though, because their first makeout session was after the guy started singing Bermuda Highway to her in a quiet falsetto. Good for him if that's all it takes.

From the third floor, it was quite loud, but only during more quiet moments. And when the shushes started, they were pretty effective.

I did notice that in my area, anyone who was at the rail of the balcony was quiet. The chatter came from people socializing at the bar or sitting in the lounge area.

As far as pics, from above, it's a sea of blue screens. Everyone's got their phone out. It's sort of strange actually.

It was really great meeting a ton of the forum members last night, didn't rage up front with the crew though, once I start drinking I have the bladder of an 80 year old woman after 5 cups of coffee, and it was crazy packed up there, tried coming back up there once and decided against it. Place was absolutely more packed last night than the first and it's only gonna get worse. The chatty kathies were super annoying, I was doing my best to tune them out. Show was absolutely amazing... what they did to phone went west almost caused my head to explode, just beyond amazing!

Taking photos does not bother me, but this girl held her big ass sprint evo up for 5 minutes at a time. You couldn't see past the damn thing. She was taking TERRIBLE pictures, she couldn't even see the thing, she just held it up and kept snapping photos. It was seriously aggravating.

@whoever said that she was taking so many photos cause she was having a good time and trying to capture it: Give me a break. Taking 500 photos on two different cameras does not = having the time of your life. It was unreal annoying.

As long as you are really enjoying the show I can't get mad at someone for talking. If it is too much or too loud it can be annoying. But I am guilty of saying a few words to my friends next to me as my face melts away in between songs. I spent most of the night just singing my soul out with JJ. It just keeps getting better. Can't wait for Thursday, Friday and Saturday!!!   :D

I don't have a problem with snapping photos. I do get annoyed with people who insist on video taping with cell phones, especially upfront. You can't honestly think that your cell phone is going to really capture anything more than static and bright lights.

I liken it to a nice sunset. You can take a lot of pictures for the memories or artistic merit, but you need to stop once in a while and enjoy the show for yourself through your own eyes and not a 3 inch viewfinder.

Just saw the Miss You into Cobra (or half of Cobra). Wow. Are you f***ing kidding me? Please someone invent a warp to NY so I can use it and see the final three days of this majestic event.

I'm going to Louisville, wonder if any of these covers will carry over there?

I am in Nashville, working, not able to attend any of these shows. I have been seeing MMJ play live since Johnny Quaid was in the band and would absolutely love to be there to have all those memories come flooding back.

So, you have a problem with someone taking a lot of "terrible" pictures in front of you while MMJ plays At Dawn (1 of my all time favorite albums by anyone) in its entirety w/Johnny Quaid. Sorry, I cannot relate to your pain.  :-/
Jim brings all his love, passion, energy and mystery to the stage and says, "I'm right here."

RIGHT ON TRACEY!!! THERE REALLY IS NO NEED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING. I JUST FEEL SO BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO GO TO ALL THESE SHOWS! PLUS I WAS AT THE RAMBLE ON SAT NIGHT IN WOODSTOCK. TO EACH THEIR OWN IS MY PHILOSOPHY. KEEP IT REAL.  8-)

Dynamite show.  No other band in the world can pull of Erykah Badu and Danzig on consecutive nights.  What a blessing it is to be able to attend these shows.
