Roll Call: At Dawn: Night 2: October 19

First night I was up close and my brain was melted. Second night I was with cig smokers who wanted to leave our amazing spots after hacienda to go on the rooftop; I was stuck in the back and it kinda sucked.  I will not be anywhere else but the first five rows or on the balcony from here on out.

I need to sneak some weed in for tomorrow.  _

were lots of people smoking? is it worth it to try and sneak in a J?

From the 3rd floor balcony, it smells wonderfully herbal in that place. I don't think you'll have an issue unless you get nasty paranoia because Security does seem to prowl most of the night. Hell if you're near me I'll make sure to stand big to make sure they can't see you even if I'm not doing it myself.

At the risk of crowding my spot, I'm really content being on the balconies. I typically head down to the floor during the last song so that I'm not standing in a stairwell for an hour waiting for people to move, and by that point the band looks totally different. But if you can get the balcony rail, you won't be let down, and you're near a bar at all times and you can say to your smoking friends "I'll hold our spot while you go outside"

I've smoked in Terminal 5. It helps to be discreet about it and also try to get in the middle on the floor. That's the best spot. If you're on the sides it makes it easier for security to spot and get to you.

You're just answering all my questions, aren't you!? Yeah man... I think I'll bring one along up to the 3rd floor balc, and hopefully it's chill enough I can find a quick minute to smoke. Not that I NEED it, but it's just gonna make 'steam engine' that much better!

We had zero issues puffing either nights. We were fairly close to the stage & basically in the center of the crowd. I didn't see a single security member in the crowd. It's super hard to navigate around if your in the pack. Hence why I didn't leave my spot for a cig break or to get a beverage. Play it smart & safe & you'll have no issues :)

hasn't been an issue on 3rd floor either of the first two nights, but i would suggest being discreet both getting it in and smoking it.

i was up front on the floor / one person from the rail and we had no problems smoking. not that we stood there and smoked the entire time. discreet is key obviously.. just duck down for a second and you'r all good. sounds like getting into the venue they give you a good pat down and for girls they search purses thoroughly.. stashing things in your boobs is easy if your a girl.

no problems at all smoking where we were either. I was on the floor by Jim, halfway between the stage and the bar.

came to suggest this. one hitters or small bowls you can get away with damn near anywhere.

The reason I prefer joints to bowls is that with a bowl you sometimes have to light it each time (unless you get a good cherry going) and the flash of light from the lighter can be bright. Joints you light once and just keep the joint held at your side when not hitting it.

Of course, the problem with joints is that they continue smoking when you're not hitting it.

What i'm saying is.......do what you like  ;D

I can also say for a fact they started checking cigarette packs when I was in line. So keep that in mind

3rd floor is the smallest area too, and I've seen two types of security patrolling, something like SIC Event Staff in a black shirt and typical yellow-shirt security folk.

Taking photos does not bother me, but this girl held her big ass sprint evo up for 5 minutes at a time. You couldn't see past the damn thing. She was taking TERRIBLE pictures, she couldn't even see the thing, she just held it up and kept snapping photos. It was seriously aggravating.

@whoever said that she was taking so many photos cause she was having a good time and trying to capture it: Give me a break. Taking 500 photos on two different cameras does not = having the time of your life. It was unreal annoying.

i totally agree. I have been to countless jacket shows and last nights video iphone taking was unbearable. This guy totally kept videoing EVERYTHING, granted the first night I was unable to make it and i youtubed some videos just to "get a feel". But this guy was nonstop and I could see what he was taking and it was sh*t!. Live in the moment for once and take in the memory of Johnny Q playing with Carl for Phone Went West! oh wait that guy was such a D-Bag he didn't video that one he went for a piss break!??? Can't wait for Thursdays show, but it will be filled with even more idiots I'm afraid.

Different people enjoy different things. Even concert experiences. Why should we judge what someone else is doing so harshly? If they were blocking your view or being super loud and not paying attention then that's annoying. Someone who is taping the show clearly likes the band and are there for the same reasons you are. No need to judge them because they enjoy the show in a different way :)

Keep your mind open. Maybe that guy was recording some of the videos you looked up on Youtube from the night before? You never know. If someone's video-taking is blocking the view for yourself or others....say something and hopefully the person taping will realize what they are doing is bothering others. If it's blocking the view and you don't say anything then he's not really to blame.

But if you say something and they shrug you off or ignore you - screw 'em. Grab the camera/iphone and throw it  ;D ;D

Question- does anyone know what the little diddy was that Jim did on the banjo that lead into the Sabbath cover last night? It's killing me!
