Hello friends,

today i got the idea to start a begging thread in the MMJ forum to get them to Europe ;-)
Here's a little story of how I got to know the band:
and this happened in a funny way, through an American Dad episode! Never heard of them before until I saw the episode on TV where Stan gets to know the band, too, and they played a few songs. For me, they picked out their best songs, so I started to search on youtube for live videos. This was 3 weeks ago and now I own 3 cds and a dvd :D
But one thing is missing: to see them live, in real. There's a problem for me to get to the USA from Germany (e.g. costs, time,..).
So here's my official beg:

::)   My Morning Jacket, please visit Europe !!   ::)

Best regards,
Daniel

p.s. people who agree to me may post here [ch8595][ch8595]  :)

Daniel, I more than agree with you.  I love the story; that episode of American Dad, loosely based on my own life (or so it seems), has been an excellent catalyst for new fans.

I assume the DVD you have is Okonokos.  You might also look for Rockpalast from June 2008, which was filmed in a small club in Germany.  I'd burn you a copy but don't know if the format would play for you.  Email me if you'd like me to give it a try.

Sarabananbear in Sweden, weeniebeenie and Hide in Australia, Sticky in Detroit, Daniel in Germany- so many long-time and brand new fans hurting for a live MMJ fix.  It will happen, or else its an excuse to travel.

I don't pray, but will send out positive vibes for Europe, Australia, and Detroit.  And everywhere else hurting for a visit from the boys.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Whoop, whooop, I'm getting on this train. I'll beg, steal (only from the rich to give to the poor (me), Robin Hood style ;)), lie (if my mum should read this: white lies, nothing else), whatever it takes! I'm working on saving some money to go to the US, but it would be very, very nice if they'd come to Europe. They don't even need to come to Sweden (even though that would be nice too), London is fine by me.  :D

Meanwhile while waiting, I'll work on turning more people into Jacketeers, it's all coming along quite well...  :)

Europe fans unite I say and one day we'll meet at a concert!
 ;)

Hah ya I know what you mean. The scene where he's just able to say "Woooo Woooo" cause he's so amazed  8-)  I like the part where Jim puts on his pants 'one leg after the other'. Still can't identify those animals..

I keep waiting for your package John, hope it won't take much longer ;) The last mail i received from US took about 3 weeks.. These are over now so I'm quite anxious to get it now :D

And last but not least I take the chance to send some greets to my Swedish fellow  :)

Stay tuned mates

Still not arrived?  Damn!  When did I send it?  ...June 26.

Everyone, direct positive vibes towards a My Morning Jacket care package from New Hampshire to Germany, that it arrive safely by week's end.

I discovered MMJ around two years ago and is my favorite "new" band together with the Black Keys. Okonokos is the CD I listen to most of the time. I had to drive a lot last year and it is the perfect "Autobahn CD", also Evil Urges is a great album with "Touch Me I am going to Scream Part 2" being also a great Autobahn Song.

I own all cds, the Okonokos DVD, two t-shirts and a MMJ key chain so I would consider myself a hardcore fan and can not wait to see them live.
My brother was in the US for 3 months and he taped me a concert shown on PBS, Austin City Limits, awesome !!!
Sadly my budget does not allow me to travel to the US this year I would definitely have gone to a show. Since I have family in NJ I would have gone to the show in East Rutherford being also a huge Tom Petty fan, this would have been a perfect concert for me.

Sadly Berlin, Germany is neglected by good bands. Most Germans really don´t have a very good taste in music. I travelled to Amsterdam to see the Black Keys and I would also travel to every MMJ concert in Europe if they would not play in Berlin - but I do hope that they would play here someday.

You can reach this link under the setlist thread under the shows page.

They have left quite a bit and likely more often in the near future.  As many would attest, if you check out archives.org, available are some of their best early recordings from 2000 in Europe.  Check em out if you can.

Hell, the Tokyo recording from last year is very high quality as well.

Well my grandmother is German and she likes some MMJ songs, so I feel like we're all connected! :D ;) Goooo Europe!

Things Sweden has to offer if MMJ comes here:
1. Strawberry whipped cream cake (I'm not saying it's better than a peanut butter pudding surprise... but it's pretty darn good!)
2. Great entertainment for low price (buy IKEA furniture + assemble it, that could be a whole day of fun!)
3. Real vikings, raaawrr!
4. The list could go on and on, but let's just end it with a short precise: Sweden is the best! (it's official: http://www.thelocal.se/27172/20100611/)  ;)
