I know I'd be one of the first to sign up!!  They could send out quarterly newsletters, give discounts on merchandise, and send out a single with new and exclusive tracks.  someone close to the band should mention it to them!  Hopefully someday there will be a Fan Club for MMJ!

When I saw the name of this thread my first thought was, "Isn't that where we all are now?"
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Well, I'm pretty sure I'd be the first one to join.

I always thought it'd be cool for them to do a one or two track release for their fan club every xmas like the beatles did.  just a thought, not a suggestion, though it would be cool.

agreed.

I'm thinking of something like a PDF newsletter... maybe an article or two, maybe an attached MP3 of a rare song or extra-awesome live track. I'd love to be a part of that.

I'm thinking about the ability to preorder tickets to shows (which all forum members have already) as well as a fan club only 7" or cd yearly... say 20 bucks for the year or so?

But getting it in April would be so much better than not getting it at all.

I'd be all about a fan club.

we could also have a special standing section where we can all dance together.
God damn those shaky knees.

I love this idea!

The Black Crowes used to have one called Taller. It was great, fans would get special priority for kick ass tickets when you ordered through the fan club. They had a quarterly journal with fan contributions and photos submitted by the band's management and road stories galore. They sent special gifts occasionally like an xmas tape - the little record adapter thingy with their logo on it, stickers etc.

They even did a set list contest - which never happened but the idea was cool.

As I recall, it was run by fans with financial backing from the band's management.
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.

I am completely digging this idea! Let's get it started!!

You could always join the My Morning Jacket Fan Club on FaceBook... It has nearly 1,500 members.
